I know that Prince has experimented so much but I am wondering what albums would be classified as the same genre. Any help would be appreciated>

impossible to classify. i have a 1980 interview where prince explicitly states that he hates the idea of identifying his music by genre. in fact it was this zeal to defy pigeon-holing that drove him to produce such unique music.

I've always classified the iTunes genre of all my Prince related music as "Prince". It makes it easy to random play all my Prince, Prince & the Revolution, Prince & the N.P.G., and all associated artists together.

This is a very hard and I have to say very pointless question. Prince's albums nearly always have tracks that can be categorised into several diverse genres and sometimes individual tracks can have different genres in themself. Mostly his music is R and B soul with a strong Pop/Rock influence, also I would say a lot of border line techno/electronica, inflections of heavy rock and funk roll. In all I classify most of his 80s stuff as rock, 90s as dance and 2000's R and B as his music overall has become a lot 'blacker' in the past decade.
