Indeed. Touchy subject for a lot of people.

Like? You can get Omega-3 acids in flax seed, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, walnuts and spirulina. Omega 6 is available in pistachios, chestnut oil and olives.

No, it's not touchy at all, just science.

Agreed. Meat is not necessary for proper brain function. I am not a vego, I am a nutritionist. There are plenty of alternative sources of essential fatty acids.

For any confused vegetarians out there or vegans for that matter who are now worrying if they are getting adequate b12.....

'The requirement for vitamin B12 is very low. Non-animal sources include Red Star Vegetarian Support Formula or T-6635+ nutritional yeast (a little less than 1 Tablespoon supplies the adult RDA), and vitamin B12 fortified soymilk.' this is from http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/b12.htm and quite accurate in my opinion.

So if you choose not to eat meat there are alternatives. Or if you happen to like it, Vegemite is a terrific source of B12.
