and it all takes place completely at night in a soundstage.
O_o I'm STILL gonna watch it.
Yeah people, let her make up her mind on what she thinks of the film.
First time I watched it, I thought "this isn't that bad". |

*I've watched the Lovesexy, Dirty Mind, Rave, & Nude Tours
*I've watched Purple Rain, and UTCM
*I found out what "fam" meant
*I've written "Lovesexy" and "D.M.S.R" on my arm on multiple occasions
*I've listened to most of his songs, (even the boots!) but I can never be too sure about that since he has SO MANY of 'em
*I've watched some of the interviews
*I've seen the video where he performs onstage with MJ, and James Brown
*AND I now own all of my masters
I don't know, but it feels like the journey is coming to an end, and I DON'T WANT IT TOO!!
You've only just begun. I have a friend who is a Hendrix Freak. He has almost everything Hendrix ever did ...bootlegs...demos...unreleased tracks....rare live film. But he's still hangin' out for the next thing.....and still every so often he stumbles across something he hasn't heard/seen.
And Hendrix has been dead for 42 years!!
The sun has just risen on your Prince journey...welcome 2 the dawn.
(man that was poetic!)
You have a long way to go, young grasshhop, now walk on and don't step on any Prince's Sarah |

I loaned this DVD to a friend with the warning that it was a bad movie. She had seen Purple Rain and UTCM she thought they were okay. But, until she watched it-she didn't realize how bad it was. She had watched parts of it over 3 nights. I told her, she didn't have to finish the film. She felt that she had to finish it, as if it were some sort of personal challenge. Oddly enough, I had a similar reaction, only I thought it was terrible. I still think that today. I think the original concept of the film via Controversy Magazine story had the right idea. Just needed someone who could deliver it via script/directing. I think Prince was attempting to do too many things at once and not accomplishing what he really wanted. Anyone who deals in this industry knows what I'm talking about. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |

I'd never actually seen it until the DVD came out. I really had no idea what to expect. I remember when the closing credits began to roll. thinking "Why?!...why, Prince...WHY?!". Its (IMO) truly a terrible movie but, for that reason alone, you should see it.
I remember Michael Koppelman, an engineer who was working with Prince at the time, saying that he visited the set a few times and that he could see the movie was going to be awful. He couldn't undertand why no one else was saying it. Everyone involved was so in awe of Prince no one was willing to pull him aside and say "Love your music...the guitar, bass...the whole multi-insturmental thing...love it!...the songwriting...the classic albums...all excellent...I mean EXCELLENT!! This, however, my small purple friend, is a TURD."

The reason why I didn't it was that bad because I've seen worse movies. The worst of the worst acting anyone has ever seen. Have you ever seen the cult movie "The Room"? That has to be the worst movie ever made in history.

Exactly "The Room" was so bad it was good. Graffiti Bridge is almost at that level and it will give you a lot of insight into Prince's mind as well. I'm not saying anyone shouldn't see it. I'm saying after seeing it you're journey will be complete.
Apparently everybody's looking for it anyway, might as well jump on the bandwagon.
If anything get it for "Elephants in Flowers" that was the music-video part that made it worth watching to me. |
