Prince's Most Cinematic Songs

What are some of his most cinematic songs?

-3 chains o gold

-all my dreams

for example

The folks from Brooklyn play da bass pretty good but the ones from Minneappolis play it like they OUGHTA SHOULD!

Joy In Repetition plays like a mini movie. God, the way it was realized in Graffiti Bridge is a disservice to the song.

I could have done so much better!

Off the top of my head,

Hallucination Rain

Old Friends 4 Sale - always makes me think of some dramatic climax of a movie.

I'm not sure how some of you are defining "cinematic" (like a movie?).

I was thinking that when you hear the song, it plays visually like a movie, as if a music video is just begging to be made...

But I think some of the answers are that it could be used in the soundtrack to a movie...

but any song could be used in movie!

I've often thought Prince's songs are very cinematic...the big one for me is Moonbeam Levels, you can really picture what he is describing there.

I also find Money Don't Matter 2 Night cinematic, the official video didn't do it justice IMO, maybe because I saw it years after it came out, so it seemed more dated.

I take cinematic to mean anything with a story or some kind of narrative so I second Joy in Repetition and Anna Stesia as two great examples.

Also: The Ballad of Dorothy Parker ("Yeah, let me get a fruit cocktail. I ain't too hungry.")--Makes me wonder if other songs with dialogue count too, like Temptation. wink

Last one: Do Me Baby--Don't know how others feel about this one!

I love all these songs, and I think a huge reason why is because they play out like mini-movies in my brain.
