I'm sure this has been talked about before...but I was wondering if anyone knows why prince got divorced from his first two wives...I was just on you tube watching interviews of him talking about his first wife, and he seemed so happy. I'm not saying that any of us has the reason from Prince himself,but I'm sure some of you has heard from the news or someone who knows someone......I dont think I would have let that man go if I where his wife! he would have to be beating me or just plain disrespecting me for me to bail out on him! |

He got a divorce from Mayte because they were cheating on each other and she bore a terminally ill child. He wrote about it in the song "Hey Hannigan".
He got a divorce from Manuela because he completed sufficient funding of her outreach organization Gamillah Inc.

Prince has never discussed either of his divorces publically. Neither have Mayte or Manuela. So ultimately, we don't know.
If you want rampant and probably mostly baseless speculations from people that don't know any of them personally, ya came to the right place.

"Hey Hannigan" was written well before Prince married Mayte. In fact, Prince wrote "Hey Hannigan" right after being onstage with James Brown and Michael Jackson. That gave him that famous and incredible burst of inspiration that led directly to him writing all the songs for "Sign O' The Times" in one night. |
