Prince inspired songs of today It is clear that many people are inspired by Prince, although I was wondering whether if there are any songs out now that you've heard of that sound like a long lost prince song
Songs I've heard so far that sound very princey: Schoolin' life - Beyonce (linn drum machine, synthesisers, electric guitar, purple rain feel 2 it) Highly suspicious - My morning jacket (vocals, quirky lyrics, guitar solo, screaming) Super massive black hole - Muse (prince 2.0, guitar, vocals, futuristic)
What do u think? Style is not biting style when U can't find the funk

I actually thought that it must of had some kind of Prince input when I first heard Schoolin' life, it's probably why I like the song cause it sounds so Prince like with the Linn Drum effect the feeling U get when U fall in love not with a girl or a boy but with the heavens above

Have You Ever Heard "Work It out" By beyonce? I always Thought It was Musicology With a Couple of changes
Also You should hear to Deandre Brackensick, His Falsetto Is AMAZING! And he's obviously inspired By Prince...
Lady gaga Said in her book (My friend has it and he borrowed me the book) That She was Inspired By the Piano Playing of Prince And By The Whole Context Of Purple rain, So... Maybe that's Why She Is So theatrical.

I have a book that says Lady Gaga was inspired by Prince's piano playing too along with Elton Johns! She also said on a programme that was on MTV on her fashion icons that Prince inspired her fashion too he was like number 7 or 8 I think on her fashion icon countdown the feeling U get when U fall in love not with a girl or a boy but with the heavens above

Yes!
Also, the entire album Of The Blue Colour Of the Sky by OK Go is very Prince-y. And not just the vocals. A lot of the lyrics and just the general way they play with the aural landscape reminds me of Prince. White Knuckles, in particular.
Edited to include this line from a review I found:
"Prince put out his first good record since the 80s last month in the form of OK Go's Of The Blue Colour of the Sky."
Ouch.

Funny thing is Work it Out was released 2 years before Musicology. But, that song was definitely inspired by old-school funk, and I can see Prince being one of the artist being paid tribute to. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

It seems that Everyone want to be Prince He's a genius and eveyone wants some of what he has. Prince delivers so much love through his music that he deserves lots of and respect in return. It sounds like lots of artists use his intellectual property. There are so many similarities and references of so many aspects of his genius, everywhere
Genius is another word for magic, and the whole point of magic is that it is inexplicable. ~ Dame Margot Fonteyn

Kip was very cool, i loved his voice, but it wasnt very special. He had that typical R& B sounding voice! He was great as Prince s backing vocalist! I liked his backings on Call my name and the songs on The rainbow children
The current girls on the other hands are great as backing vocalists. The best one Prince ever had...But i hate the fact, that prince let them take over ond fool on stage like some little girls... They should stay and the back and just sing some choirs....

I thought I'd add 2 the convo of Prince-inspired songs of 2day. I have a list of tracks that have the Prince sound and vibe so 2 speak. U can look up most of them on YouTube just 2 check'em out. There's several out there, but this is what I could come up with off top:
1) D'Angelo - Charade (There's only a live version out right now) 2) Alicia Keys - Like u'll never see me again 3) Marsha Ambrosius - Late Night, Early Morning 4) The Dream - Yamaha 5) The Dream - Fast Car 6) The Dream - Falsetto 7) Electrik Red - So Good 8) Andre 3000 - She lives in my lap 9) Trey Songz - Sex ain't better than love (the sound only, not vocals)
*** Just something 2 look in2, but I've added these tracks 2 my iTunes playlist. I vibe 2 them quite often.***
