I can't stand any of his music right now.

Can't turn it on, can't listen to it, nothing.

And it's weird, because I'll have times when I listen to nothing else, just Prince all day ever day. And then I'll drop him like nothing and stop listening. And when I stop listening I just can't turn it on.

I mean, I still like him, but I can't hear it at all right now.

Anyone else ever felt like this?

No.

If you're so sick of the abuse then why do you stay with him?

I go periods where I don't listen to him but it's not a conscious thing. Usually just because I'm focused on another artist or looking for new artists to enjoy.

That happened to me today. I just could not do it. Had not listened to any of his songs in weeks, and when I fired up the iPod today and hit the playlist, it just didn't work. Songs that I grooved to a few months ago sounded amateurish and noisy and awful. Even Lavaux, which I love(d?). Maybe the fever is over. Or maybe it will return.

I can, however, watch his films, and I will never ever tire of Purple Rain. Or the campy "UTCM". So that's something. I lurv looking at that face. Maybe it's the man I like more than his music.

It'll probably return... every time I stop listening to an artist it feels like I'll never like their music again, then a few months later, I do.

I haven't played his music in a while like I did for almost two months straight last year but I think every May, June or July I find myself playing him. I got a lot of Prince to play though so maybe he'll come across my mind to play next month or maybe this month.

I think it's good to take a break from some of your favorite artists, once in a while....and use that time to listen to someone else, and explore something different.

Yeah, right now. I just have no urge to listen to any of his music. And I don't know why?? I'm just not feeling it at the moment, I'm normally obsessed. I think we're on a break.

Weird. It already has. Fired up the iPod yesterday and fell in love all over again. Woo hoo!
