Is Lenny Kravitz on Billy Jack Bitch?

I just read on housequake.com's facebook page that Lenny Kravitz sings on the chorus of Billy Jack Bitch. Is this true?

And if it is true, I wonder why it wasn't advertised and promoted at the time.

I've never heard anything like that and I've been a fan for a long time.

I call 'bullshit' on that.

Just had a listen, and it's a good call. He could definitely be in there, uncredited.

I do believe I read a quote from Prince once saying that Lenny was on one of his tracks uncredited....

Apparently true. He's on the chorus chant, (not saying lyrics) of the studio cut.

Given the trouble Prince was having with WB at the time, and the politics and complications of contracts and permission.... it's no surprise he didn't credit Lenny. Prince was "getting free" whilst Lenny was, as P put it, "still on the plantation".

But we did hear for years that Lenny played uncredited on a Prince track that was relesed. This news solves the mystery I guess.

I never knew that. I did read on the org (a few years ago) that Lenny played drums (uncredited) on one of P's tunes back in the 90's.

That's what I read in the comments on housequake. I listened a couple of times, and it's clear there are people other than Prince on the track, but I can't exactly pick out Lenny Kravitz. Apparently Kravitz confirmed this in an interview with a French magazine, but I haven't found it.

If you visit Princevault:

http://www.princevault.co...Jack_Bitch

you'll see it references a source for the information (although the link doesn't work)

In Musiq magazine, issue #15, Lenny Kravitz states that he appeared on the recording.

Thanks!

I checked the revision history, and it looks like princevault just added that info this week. The interview they site is from 2008, so I wonder why housequake and princevault are just reporting this now.

Anyway, it's cool that this info is out there. Thanks again for the link. biggrin biggrin I suppose I could've checked there first. wink

If memory serves, Lenny is on Calhoun Square.

Memory may not be serving though, cuz, I can't remember where I read that...

It's simply because it was only picked up on in this last week, even though the source was always around.
