I realize that some people like a well crafted song as opposed to an extended, musical ellaboration.

I, for just one, get into it listening for the challenges that the musicions might present to one another.

For me, when the groove is there, it's pure bliss to hear musical ideas mesh well at the hands of great players.

But, like I said, that's just how this kid feels about it!

Prost!

Yeah, but this is just instrumental jamming, it's just rehearsal and nothing new or exciting that we haven't heard before,in fact if you compare this stuff to other stuff, it's very bland.

Now, if i were going to the AU gig, I'd be hyper now, which is the sole intentions of this jam, so you all acting like he has the next new song released! lol

I don't really accept this as a new song, but I'm glad it was put out there to enjoy!

The bold type isn't really a fact, is it?

But I am curious as to what you were comparing this rehearsal to?

lol Just listen to any other damn rehearsal, I think I agree with Bart on this one. This jam is totally unexciting and not hyping me up!

I think Prince is tryin to say "Give me your money, and kiss my a**" I mean I know we all have, so I am NOT making any judgments. Just give the man what he wants....damn!

Wow. PRINCE and the NPG are in rehearsal for the Welcome 2 Australia tour!!! Ticket sales are BLAZING. What started as 3 shows is now up to 6. Australia, how many shows can U handle?

To begin every week of rehearsal, to get the rust off, PRINCE and the band jam one song for 30-45 minutes.

"The Dance Electric" in its original form with vocals will be one of the featured encore songs for the Welcome 2 Australia tour.

Get ready to DANCE!!!

P.S. PRINCE and the band are currently taking requests for desired tunes for the setlist.

So......what do U all want to hear???-DocFB

... didn't see your post earlier ( my bad ) ... I'm feelin' this song. If you listen closely, you can hear the original TDE loop ( very cool )

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

anybody else hear 2 guitars? if this is really a live jam, i think somebody you people love to hate (Andy Allo) learned a few things in the past few months.

It's not necessarily Andy Allo. Could be someone else, could be overdubs by Prince, could be the band playing live over another guitar track...

A decent funky, tight groove. Lovin it cool

I swear if Prince layed down vocals and kept the same groove he'd have a major hit on his hands - oldskool - this reworking is a success imo cool

I read it on my FB and was just anticpating this funk Jam Session!!!

It was well worth the wait!! I mean, this was just OFF THE WALL! WHAT was he doing here? I wished he extended the Rocking guitar towards the end. But the chicken greese has so much flavor I mean this is OFF THE HOOK! Can't stop jamming to it!

That bass is too funky..I can't stand this track. I just can't...lol

At 2:25 there's that cop whistle like the old days of disco songs. I know it seems trivial but in many ways that may not be understandable to some, it's not. It's hot.

The minute I heard that, I remembered his "Kool & The Gang" joke from the DMSR rehearsal.

i'm sensing a trend ..prior 2 the canada dates, dr tweedle berry reports about prince rehearsing extra loveable 4 the shows, yet he never performed it. now here's the dance electric being promised 2 be performed as a encore..yeah i'll belive it when i read about it.

the jam is okay but it would have been nice 2 hear a verse or two. just saying the dance electric early in the track doesn't make it the dance electric

and yes i wanted 2 smack shelby 4 calling out "remix" rolleyes

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I like it. Fcuz, it only makes me yearn even more for an official prince on vocals

version of the studio track (the original studiotrack, not a re-recording).

But it's nice to see him actually releasing stuff again. It's a little free bonus sort

of thing. And that's nice.

He's been dustsing off many outtakes the last few years, mainly for live shows,

so what gives? Why his sudden interest in all this 'old' stuff?

It feels like one gigantic prick tease tho. Because in the end, we never get these

songs that he knows we want. It's just a live chant or a one off performance or

a radically reworked new version.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
