What Is Your Current Favorite Prince Boot?

Just a reminder folks..........ABSOLUTELY NO SOLICITING FOR BOOTLEGS.You want to discuss them? That's fine - but NO OFFERS TO COPY, NO REQUESTS TO COPY, NO "WHERE CAN I GET", etc. NO POSTING OF LINKS TO THESE SITES EITHER. Please be aware that the moderators here strictly enforce this rule. - luv4u

I find myself lately playing The Dream Factory boot by Thunderball over and over again. biggrin

I just love this configuration--all the songs flow so well into each other IMO, even though there are volume and quality fluctuations but not much.My only real beef with this boot is that Prince's steaming hot version of We Can Funk should be the last song to close out the two disc set. Nothing can compare to the orgasmic climax of that song to end it! I need to listen even more closely with headphones but I just love the way the set sounds on my stereo speakers. What is your current favorite Prince bootleg LP?

I have a disc of Dream Factory July 8 1986 which is great and the sonic quality is excellent, although I have just got a Planet Rock LP of Charade so can't wait to hear that when I get access to a turntable

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

This.

The material on the majority of all these old Thunderball, Sabotage, Moonraker etc etc discs can now be found in much better sound quality on newer releases.

Out of the recent releases I'm still enjoying the 1986 NYC Soundboard released by FBG, that's about it. All these 20Ten/W2Wherever shows hold no interest to me at all, unless the actual show and/or the recording is exceptional in some way.

Why are you listening to this? Was it not you that I pointed in the direction of "T's 12inch Archive" collection a few months ago?

Please don't tell me you are buying pressed discs of all these obsolete releases.

I give up!

I heard a couple in teh stire yesterday and the quality was raw to say the least, still I don't mind I want to catch that authentic illicit sound that a fan in the mid 80s had to put up with. Its amazing how any of his stuff on vinyl sounds different to all the digital and CD versions we have now. Bring on the rawness.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I also have a bootleg disc of a live show recording of June 7 1986 of the Detroit Cobo Arena gig on the hit and run tour. Its an actual video disc. I just love that whole Parade/UTCM era. Its a great show and good quality, the 11 piece Revolution, Prince in those zoot suits, the horns and the funk....

I often see Prince vinyl bootlegs sell for quite high sums at record fairs and on fleabay. I guess it's a collectors thing.

I can't imagine why people would want to listen to way sub par quality recordings when (most of) the same things can now be found in, for the most part pristine sound.

But that's just me.

At the moment, it's a toss up between the "Parade Demo's" boot and the 84 Birthday show. I can take or leave most Live boots, but that Birthday show (Something in the Water especially),just kills me everytime..biggrin

If their was one Desert Island Disc I could take to er, a Desert Island, it would probably be that.

Loving all the recent live stuff but at the moment the 10,000 wallpaper audio is getting hit the most. Love that whole era as it was when I started getting heavily into Prince headbang.

RIP sad

That B'day Boot is amazing--the clarity of sound! drool3 I play that on a regular basis...we've been so spoiled the last several months...
