I was reading the other thread about the unreleased version of this song featuring the New Power Trio. I'd LOVE to hear that version!

But, yeah, anyway...

Why is this song ignored so much on the org? I mean, even his HARDCORE fanbase seem to have almost no regard for this song, and the ones who do recognise it seem to hate it. I, for one, think it's amazing! It's dark, it's beautiful and it's so far removed from Prince's usual sound. I think it was a bold move releasing this track.

Back to the ? though... DOES anyone like this song? At ALL?!

Or am I the only one?

I like the song.. So quite I feel the blood rushing threw my veins

GOTTA GET ANOTHER HIT...TURN IT OUT!!

Yea, hell yea. The song is dark, seductive, condusive to terrorized noises in the darkness of a large cathedral. The mood of the quietness is music itself. His vocals are conductive, like an electric charge from a thunderhead.

I mildly like it. lol

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

I always liked Solo BUT also felt that it didn't quite hit the mark, that he was overreaching or something. Could've been better if he wasn't trying so hard...

That's exacly how I feel.

I love it too. I heard it live at Paisley Park in 1994, don't know that it has ever been played live again.

F**k the WHAT?! You heard it LIVE?!?!

I've searched ENDLESSLY on the web for a live version, but to no success... sad

So what's it like? Is it as good/better/worse than the studio version? I NEED to know lol!

Also, is it on any boots?

Prince did 11 shows in Minneapolis in April and May of 94. 10 at Glam Slam and 1 at Paisley Park. It was done at the Paisley Park show. I can remember going down to Glam Slam and they did a scavenger hunt in the Erotic City room. Once you found everything, they gave you a ticket that read "Worth It's Weight In Gold" and it was a ticket to go out to Paisley Park that night for a show (May 26, 1994). It was in the soundstage area and the whole Endorphinemachine stage was set up. It sounded very similar to the cd version, the band didn't play any instrumentation as far as I can remember. It just stood out because he hadn't played it at any of the other shows. You have to remember at that time neither Come or Gold were released yet and it was hard to remember all of these new songs without knowing the actual name and having something to compare them to (i.e. a cd). As far as I know, none of these shows have ever surfaced on any boots. Shame!
