Beautiful, Loved & Blessed Is a beautiful duet between Prince and Tamar I use to think it was average, but it is a really great song not to mention the subject matter is wonderful.

Awesome song, loved it from the moment I first heard it. Whenever I do listen to the song, I find myself repeating the chorus over and over in my head thru out the day (drives me crazy sometimes)

It doesn't get a lot of love around here, but I love it. I like the sentiment, and the duet is beautifully mixed. Definitely a track I enjoy a lot.

i wouldn't say i love it. but it's pretty good. as far as duets go, it's one of the better ones that we know from prince.
tamar was one of the few proteges who looked great but could also sing, you know, something that all the others lacked to a large degree, lol.
i also love the rest of her backingvocals all over the 3121 album. she was a great addition imo. shame she had to leave prince land so soon.

not a fav
nice song, but it sounds like a song someone else made and asked Prince to sing on

The song has a lovely sentiment but it feels very out of place on the album.

It is a great song, but what makes it great is the subject matter of us all knowing truly who we are and that were beautiful. Not to bring religion into this, but the song discusses that too.

Agreed, but I think it doesn't get discussed because of it's meaning

Agreed-His work with Tamar is pretty decent and she had talent. I guess folks like the trophy proteges with no talent

It does feel like it was meant for some other work of his

well, it was included on tamar's "milk and honey" album as well. i think that was the idea from the start, to have a duet that they would put on her album as well as his own. so it probably had to be a song that wouldn't stand out too much on either album.
it does feel a little bit out of place, but i do love how The Word flows nicely into it.

I've always thought The Word was a masterpiece from first listen. 3121 in general is a great album to me

It's not going to blow anyone out of the water, but it was one of the tracks I didn't mind when 3121 was released.

I liked this one. I wonder how Tamars album is coming along.

it actually took a couple of listens for me to appreciate the song

I always dug the way they played it on SNL. The end part was VERY funky and Sly-like.

I didn't take to it initially, but it's grown on me over time. Pretty tune and uplifting lyric.

I can't even put into words what this song has done for me. I listen to it most mornings - Helps to start my day off with a positive attitude & optimistic disposition. I absolutely love it

I am actually looking forward to her album, I think she is talented, unfortunately things were not in the cards for her and Prince for whatever reason. Thanks Nursev for the thread, cuz now I can't get the chorus out of my head. In my head, I keep singing Beautiful, Loved & Blessed in my Tamar voice. I definitely think it is a Tamar song and not a Prince song, he took a backseat on this as far as vocals go. And he probably included it on his album because he believed in Tamar and the songand wanted to give her another avenue for her voice to be heard.

I've been playing this every day lately! And yes, it kind of grew on me too. First listen, was kinda just alright. Nice melody. Well sung. OK. But like with many P songs in the past, the more I listened the richer it sounded, picked up on more things. And I just find it so uplifting and refreshing - like other posters have said, it's a good way to start your day! (no matter your religious beliefs - it's just a postive message).

i think it's a boring song, but i enjoyed the snl performance & thought it was cute when he moved in 4 a crafty hug

I liked it from the start but it has become even better after repeated listens. Like mentioned before it has an appealing sentiment. It also has a catchy melody one that pops up in my head every once in a while.

I didn't care for it for a long while, but now I have a high appreciation for it Prince's Sarah

I like this song, too. The guitar solo is pretty cool; it's subtle and has a nice lifting feeling to it.
It's too bad this project was killed. I was excited about it.

Absolutely untrue. I don't think anyone has a problem with its meaning. In fact, it has very little meaning. The song is about someone learning to realize their imagined value perhaps with the help of a fictional creator. What's the big deal? There are a million song just like it. It doesn't get dicussed because there isn't much to discuss about it. What is so controversial? It's about nothing but some Stuart Small shit. "I love myself. I AM good enough. I don't have to take responsibility for my actions because if it's good, my GOD gets the glory and if it's bad Satan made m do it." It a pleasant little tune and it's uplifting to those who can't lift themselves up. Big whoop.

I thought it was pure cheese when 3121 came out. But I have to admit, it's grown on me a bit. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
