Prince is coming up with new ways to release his new music any way he can. Whatever makes him happy in his twilight years is ok with me.Prince can pass the time away until he can have full ownership of all his past masterpieces. Andy makes him happy. So let's sit back & enjoy it & stop hating on him & his beautiful new protege/girlfriend.............
Of course he can do whatever he wants.
What I don't understand is how he is always talking about real talent and real music, yet he always choses women who can't sing to make a record with.
Maybe looking at a beautiful woman motivates him. He has always used them 4 inspiration in one way or another.. don't c anything wrong with that. As long as it keeps him in the studio...He seems estatic working & per4ming with her. So let that b his inspiration.. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. |

Uhm, nopp, not everybody is jealous. I know you hate this but accept that some think she is not really good. People may like her, some may not. I think many people aren't really moved by her. I personally simply cannot stand her singing voice. It makes my ears bleed. So sad because the song which she originally wrote and was as boring as she is, was made into a great great funky song by Prince, the NPG and Maceo Parker. The only problem with the song is that Andy is singing. So basically the album is going to be a Prince album.
I know what he is trying to do, and I think it is sad, because he should rather focus his energy on his own music. My opinion. And, no, I am not jealous. Before ya'll start throwing rocks at me. I am not jealous, I am sad, because I love Prince, but he is turning into something I hate. He is a desperate man.
I am going to have to disagree with this statement. Prince is Prince and he is going to do what he wants to do, one of the many reasons why I like him (he is kind of polarizing in a way). He loves women and he likes to be their Knight in shining armour, if you will. With Andy, I think he really believes in her singing abilities (like I said b4, I can take her voice in small doses) and he knows how tough the music scene, so if he can give her the exposure/mentoring/financial backing and also get his music out there, then thats what he is going to do. I don't think he does any of this out of desperation though, imo.
I have to disagree too. Desperation for what exactly? I don't see where desperation, careerwise, fits into his 30 year plus, (and then some), music career. Many muisicians/artists today, would love to have their music careers and names, as artists, last that long. Especially when Prince can survive off his name alone, as a musican and artist, while employing other musicians/artists in his band.
He's already accomplished so much over the past 30 years plus, achieved legendary status, respected worldwide by many musicians/artists from various generations, has made other musicians/artists' names household because of their association with him, whether that was performing in his band/or in a movie with him, and I doubt any, former band associate would leave his name off their resumés, as they continue their solo careers or collaborate with other musicians. He has been able to still sell out arenas, over the past few years, which in this day and age and state of the music industry, is not always the case for many musicians/artists of his time period. With all that he has achieved, I don't see where desperation musically, seem to fit. [Edited 3/10/12 8:23am] |

Agree with MJMia not jealous even no hate to Andy she is a beautifull gilrl and probably very nice, ok if she make Prince happy hurray, my only problem is her voice, like I told before it has no power, it creaks and I have the same problem like MJMia gives me pain in my ears and I did hear her live at 3 concerts last summer,
ok the studio sound is not so bad but we know how that works and If you look at NSJ you can see Prince is proud off her so let him be, and if you like her voice good that's your oppion,
it's not that we don't like her, hate or be jealous, but just because I'm a music lover who don't likes Andy's voice, but wish this clever girl who brings internet back in Prince's live, al the luck in the world |

Ok - I'm in agreement with those that simply are not feeling Andy's voice. I dig People Pleaser - and if it was sung my a stronger vocalist i'd probably dig it some more. I like the song's production and the The Hornheadz/ Maceo are a cool addition.
Superconductor - too little to make a definitive judgement but, again, Allo's voice does nothing for me. Her vocals perhaps don't transcend genres like Prince's does.
I will say RESPECT to her for getting on the stage and doing her thing - Bria didn't.
However let's be real - as a musician/singer protege Sheila E/ Jill Jones she aint. Hell, even Tamar was more promising. Just my own personal opinion - the album might change my mind.
I don't agree that prince is 'desperate' - he's certainly got form for picking 'talent' as proteges to promote.

I commented on the fact that I'm not to thrilled with her musical chops, but that she's hella fine, which makes up for the lack of said chops. That being said, these days, given that stage presence, looks, etc., mean more than actual talent, maybe Allo is a balance between the two in Prince's eyes. Even though, IMHO, she isn't much musically, she does have great stage presence and is exciting to watch. I think she adds to Prince's stage presence. Maybe he's seen the light with regard to today's market and realized that he needs someone who younger peopel can look at and think, yeah, I want to be like her. |

Huh? Prince vocals will be on them? To what extent? Yes, I would bypass that actually, but more likely I'lll get a copy from somewhere, and keep it in the locked folder!
Ya know what is more important to me is if Prince is working on his own album? The Andy Allo marketing is just terribly managed, it's a mess.
What next? I'm waiting for G. Clinton to tweet he has a collaboration with someone like Britney Spears and make people believe she's the next funk diva, he has discovered.
Well, anything is possible if he'd have the same mind as P

The fans scooped up practically every release from Paisley Park by a protege on the off chance Prince was on it. He could've have burped a falsetto hook and it would've have still been a necessary grab for the completeists(I'm one and openly admit it). That's probably why this isn't a make or break issue for me. Prince hasn't forced me to buy anyones music other than Bria Valente's CD(and that wasn't a bad deal to get the title track). Everything else was a free choice in the end. Andy Allo's CD will be bought and the tracks I like will get a new life in playlists and the ones I don't will get to sit on the hard drive. The rant over him shoving proteges down our throats isn't valid because Bria was the only one(protege) until now. Anyone who has 'Milk & Honey' by Tamar didn't have it shoved down their throat. I buy this argument. However, I'd counter that that's precisely the point I, and some others think, are trying to make: Prince appears to now be about image over substance. He used to 'push the envelope' - even with proeges - and now seems to be happy to chase trends.
Worse than this he seems happy to have someone on stage pretend to play guitar and then have said artist marketed as some kind of guitar player! Heck, even the acoustic tracks Allo has leaked more than hint at her poor guitar plying - P's guitar is clearly all over them!
I would hazard a guess that Allo's album will be a freebie with prince's latest release - it's debatable that it would sell on its own (certainly based on what ihas been offered up thus far). |

I'm just teasin' - I get what you mean. Honestly, though, I think Prince really is into that image now. I think he is very far away from the mentality he had when he created the 80s proteges. He is on the other side of the mountain now having already achieved the summit over 15 years ago.

Even that's not entirely true, to be honest with you. I don't plan on downloading or hearing shit from this album. Prince's latest output (the past 10 years, at least) doesn't warrant me trying to track down just any shit that he's on.
