Why is having an opinion about something "trying to be hip or cool"?

Seems to me that if you have to defend your choice by taking shots at others who don't agree, then you aren't confident about it... hmm

If you love them, then roll with it and don't worry about those of us who don't.

The SOTT/Lovesexy band wipes the floor with The Revolution. Yeah I said it

As a live band? Yeah, you'd be hard pushed to find many that disagree with that.

@ that time, Lisa in replacement of Boni, would have kept that layered sound. Boni in my opinion lacked what Lisa brought.

I hate the Purple rain track, always did...

Planet Earth album is the worse album ever.

"For you" and "Prince" albums are crap.

stand by my original assessment. The Black Album has 2 great tracks, 1 good track, and the rest is weak.

I didn't read your original assessment, but I agree that there are only 2 great songs+1 good song..

For me...

great songs = Superfunkycalifragisexy, Rockhard in a Funky Place

good song = When 2 R In Love

and the rest is weak

.. are those the songs you liked question

though, actually, I like "2 Nigs..." as well.

[Edited 3/4/12 23:35pm]

Almost the same. IMO, great songs = Rockhard in a Funky Place, Bob George

good song = When 2 R In Love

Dead On It is almost good except some of the lyrics are trainwreck, but the guitar is super funky.

I really should look at the album notes more. I never knew DN was a solo.

It was also recorded somewhere very close to where you live.

With Michael Jackson and James Brown. nod

I like 'Bob George'.. but I don't consider it a song. It's interesting, but not something I'd need to listen to often. and "Dead On It" is good musically, but the lyrics and vocals make me hate it.

The title track of 1999 bores me. It's overplayed and it sounds like something from a one hit wonder artist in the 80's.

AND....

You can't dance to it. nod

It's among the bottom of my favorite songs.

You can't dance to "1999"??? eek It was one of the biggest dance songs of 1982 in the U.S.!

You should have your feet checked.

Prince is Black.

I have to clarify... are you saying that OTHER people call this blasphemy, or do you not believe it to be true? hmmm

I know that he is Black, but I am amazed that even in 2012 there are people who don't know he's Black and won't believe or accept that he is Black when you correct them, and they act like it is blasphemy to even infer that he is Black. It wouldn’t be so funny or outrageous to me if many of them didn’t act like somehow that changes his talent. It’s like when I told a white person that Alexandre Dumas was mixed (part black), his actual reaction was, “Well, that’s shocking, but his writing doesn’t seem to suffer from it,” as if being part black would limit Dumas’ writing ability. And, surprising as it may sound, that is a similar reaction that I’ve gotten over the years from some white fans whom I’ve told that Prince is Black.

I hate Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, and Take Me with You gives me diarrhea!

I like Tony M and the GoldNigga Album more than I like The Symbol Album.

I wish Prince would stop wearing hair color and allow his grey hair to grow out... he should be 70% grey by now at least.

There... my house is clear!
