I hate "I Hate U" - never got into it, put off buying TGE for ages because of that song.

I also hate the production on TGE, but I don't think that's blasphemy, it's fairly consensus.

How bout - never got the hate for Wedding Feast? (and, yes, I do despise Arms of Orion and Purple and Gold)

"We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

Speaking of Arms Of Orion, that's one of my favorite songs on the Batman soundtrack

I like Under the Cherry Moon much more than I like Purple Rain (movie and soundtrack).

Also, I am not a fan of The Beautiful Ones.

+2 When Doves Cry is like the best song on purple rain and is a solo song

WDC, The Beautiful Ones, Darling Nikki

all solo and all wow as 1999 followup

The Revolution would kick his current band's ass all over God's green earth!! As "overrated" as they may be, they're still one of his very best! They could jam on like no fuckin' other, and they're EASILY better than any band he's had since after the Gold era's NPG.

Most of ya'll like to say they're overrated only to try to sound hip and cool because supposedly so many fans (especially the casuals) like them the best. Get a clue. The Revolution (especially when they were hungry like they were during the heyday) could kick most versions of the NPG/his Vegas band's ass everyday of the year and twice on Sundays!

I thought we weren't judging. But since you decided to comment, I will too. The SOTT/Lovesexy band wipes the floor with The Revolution. Yeah I said it!

The parade tour sounds fucking boring. Not every fucking song needs a horn section and the choragraphed dancing was corny.

But I guess i'm just "trying to be hip and cool" because I have an opinion about something.

I like that within about 6 posts one response says "i really dont think that should be that blasphemous" and somebody else says "bitch I will murder your whole family." That's the Prince music fan community -- diverse! (and slightly nutty)

I stand by my original assessment. TBA has 2 great tracks, 1 good track, and the rest is weak.

The parade tour sucks because he didn't play guitar enough (if at all?), and just did bad dancing instead..

And I don't like the revolution at all.. I'm not trying to be 'hip' or 'cool'.. I'm just one of those 'koolaid drinkers' who thinks Prince has gotten better (and got a better band) since the 1980s.

I didn't read your original assessment, but I agree that there are only 2 great songs+1 good song..

For me...

great songs = Superfunkycalifragisexy, Rockhard in a Funky Place

good song = When 2 R In Love

and the rest is weak

.. are those the songs you liked question

though, actually, I like "2 Nigs..." as well.
