1. Get It Up...that extended solo buried in the mix...

2. Something In The Water live June 1984 Warehouse rehearsal solo (his best imo)

3. While My Geetar Gently Weeps from the 2004 Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame...that shit brought me to my knees that night seeing it for the first time..It made me a fan again when I was over Prince..I had phone in hand to call people but it was over by the time I recovered so there was nothing for me to have them turn on to see...of course over the years we all see it and disect it etc etc and its not so special anymore but the first time it was broadcast.. witnessing it for the first time ever....oh man...

Prince has SO many excellent guitar SOLOS! So this list does not contribute realistically for me. Haha

These are the solos I'm just feeling right now at the moment! lol. His music is endless..It just goes on & ON....

Recorded:

I Will

The Rapture (From The Scandalous Sex Suite..IF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD IT..LISTEN TO IT NOW!..LOL Just INCREDIBLE!...With that I'll include Dear Michaelangelo (From Shelia E's Romance 1600), because it sounds like a brother or sister to 'The Rapture'..lol),

She Gave Her Angels/ Tangerine..Sorry, I can't pick between the two. They both have that emotional ring to them. Short solos, but just amazing!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LIVE:

Motherless Child

EVERYTHING from Montreaux 2009..Honorable Mentions Include: Empty Room, All The Critics Love U In Montreaux, Love Like Jazz/All This Love...

Purple Rain IN Milian 2010!

NOW..looking at the list..I have exceeded the request of "3 Favorites" Seriously? Haha... How could we name 3 OUT of his whole catalog? He just has too manyy!!!

As annnoying as it is, to hear him say: "I have too many hits, we will be here all night" It's TRUE! If only he played many of these songs more often! confused

It's Button Therapy, Baby!

Vict0r

When You Were Mine Montreux 2009 (a similar solo was played on keys in one of the Lovesexy rehearsals). It's that guitar solo immediately after Renato's piano solo, and around the part Prince calls out, "Is that you clapping? Turn the lights on let me see."

I just think it epitomizes everything in a solo perfectly (sound, melody, skills/execution and emotion) AND it fits the song dynamically. When you hear that solo, it just makes you understand. I have the feeling it just belongs right there and it's the perfect conclusion to this song's emotional whirlwind.

yeahthat

I was listening to the album SoTT for the first time in ages and I was really taken with the solo at the end of Play in The Sunshine. It's got a really unusual tone for Prince but he still manages to make a solo that only he could create. Also the solo at the end of U Got the Look. For such a 'pop' song that's got an amazing solo buried at the end.

Released:

1. Joy In Repetition - even though, like "Little Red Corvette", the solo consists of several takes and it's a "cut and paste" job, it's still amazing...

2. Batdance - Just fucking cool...

3. Lady Cab Driver - The whole trip is just perfect...

Unreleased:

1. Just My Imagination ('t Paard) - if the batteries for his pickups didn't die at Camden then that would be the best...

2. Something in the Water (Does not Compute) - 1984 rehearsal for birthday gig... This shuts up and exposes any of those "Music elitists/illiterates" that say that Prince is just a "Minor Pentatonic" hack that can't play with any "Soul"...

3. Purple Rain - August 3rd 1983...

Neversin.

No, Purple Rain is not my favorite nor Take me with you. I probably heard Bambi before you were even born. How old are you? 12? Nuff said.

Right, because there aren't ANY legitimate Prince fans who hate The Rainbow Children.
