Replace a song on SOTT I love the SOTT album except for one song - 'Slow Love'. It bores me to tears so I ask you which song on SOTT would you drop in favour of one of the B sides from that era?
For me, 'Slow Love' ........'Shockadelica'

I actually LOVES Slow Love, but I agree the version on the album isn't too good - the version live in the Sign O The Times movie is stunning.

Slow Love for Good Love. Was this a SOTT era track? [Edited 2/16/12 1:59am] I just can't believe all the things people say !

naah not really-recorded in the summer of 85

Yes, it was one of the tracks removed when CB became SOTT.
And I agree with the consensus, Slow Love goes - Shockadelica or something equally as bitchin' comes in, *snap* next!

I'd like to play but don't really know which outtakes / b-sides are from the relevent time.
I'd replace Housequake but don't know what with. Yep, I said it . RIP

Take out "U Got The Look" put in "All My Dreams".
Take out "Play in the Sunshine" put in "Power Fantastic".
I also believe "Joy in Repetition" should have been on this album! YOU DON'T NEED A BUS PASS FOR ME TO BUS YOUR ASS,NIGGA !

You're gonna replace one of the strongest, funkiest tracks on the album?!

No, I'm leaving them, I'm replacing a track I don't like. RIP

If "It" had been replaced by "All Day, All Night," that album would have been even way more amazing than it already is.

It > Rebirth of the Flesh
Slow Love > Large Room with No Light
...or just replace the album with the originally planned 3 record "Crystal Ball" release...

more like a Dream Factory/Camille era track
Basic tracks for the studio version were recorded on 30 October, 1986 at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA (two days after Rebirth Of The Flesh and Rockhard In A Funky Place, three days before If I Was Your Girlfriend). The track was included as the sixth track on the 5 November, 1986 configuration of the Camille album (credited to the pseudonym Camille), which was later aborted. A few weeks later, it was included as the second track on the third disc as the album developed into the triple-album Crystal Ball on the 30 November, 1986 configuration. On both albums, the track followed directly after Shockadelica. Both tracks were removed when the album was eventually pared down and became Sign O' The Times.

In my opinion I would take off Dorothy Parker, It, slow Love and Beautiful Night and just leave it a one cd set. I NEVER listen to that cd much because of those as it just bores me. The B-sides from that era would be cool in their place if I had to replace them. a 1cd set is fine for me though

There's some heretical thoughts in this thread - Removing Dorothy Parker? Housequake? Sacrilege!

You gotta replace each song on SOTT with a newer one that's got a similar genre or function... now that is a puzzle.
For example: Replace SOTT with Dance On
or Beautiful Night with Get on the Boat
or Housequake with Jughead... My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

WELL....
Replace 'Play In The Sunshine' for Power Fantastic!!! I truly believe, if he released 'Power Fantastic' on SOTT, it would get more love universally, and possibly go down as one of the greatest songs ever composed. While it gets much love here, it's a SHAME it was not released on a concept album, him releasing it on a 'B-Side/Greatest Hits' Album was pretty lame, BUT so glad he did anyways! Imagine how many other tracks like this may lie in the vault!
I dig Slow Love! , But If I had to replace it with another song, it would be that of 'Shockadelica' "Nasty BITCH, GET UP! Two Times HUH! OAWW!" Hell yeah, that would be tight! Haha
LAST but not least, 'It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night' I NEVER liked this track before. I thought it was a error track when I bought it. BUT, after seeing the performance of the tour, it's become one of my favorites. Still it's more like a jam than a song, so I would have to go with 'CRYSTAL BALL!'
Hecks YEAH!! Imagine that! "Expert Lover, Have you had a crystal ball, take of your clothes, my baby!". Crystal Ball the song is one of his best compositions EVER! Who in the hell could release something like that ever again? SO PERFECT! It's Button Therapy, Baby!

THE HUMANITY! WHO would remove Dorthy AND House Quake? That's insipid!!!! It's Button Therapy, Baby!

BIN: Play in the Sunshine In: All My Dreams

I wouldn't remove anything. I favour restoring it to the original three album set and adding a fourth disc of outtakes. Screw it, add a fourth and fifth disc of outtakes and get all of those gems from 1985-1986 in circulation!
