I´m a huge fan of old school Hip Hop and old school L.A/Westcoast Hip Hop and Electro Funk and back in those days most westcoast crews admired Prince in one way or the other ( Gangsta Rap icons NWA´s predecessor The World Class Wreckin Cru used to dress a bit like Prince back in those days, with lace outfits and stuff....Dr.Dre later got ridiculed by Eazy E after they split, and Eazy would show those old album covers of Dre´s Wreckin Cru album covers...but I digress).

Lately, I´ve been checking out a lot of 1980s Electro Funk videos on Youtube and I stumbled across this interview by Egyptian Lover, a westcoast legend who used to DJ at the Radiotron Club and for Uncle Jamm´s Army. In one of his newer interviews he mentions a remix of Irresistible Bitch that he did on KDAY, and host Greg Mack wrongly announced it as a collaboration between Prince and Egyptian Lover, which of course wasn´t true.

I know pretty much every single legit release of the Egyptian Lover but not this one, which was obviously first played as a live remix on the radio but do any old school Electro Funk afficionados here on the org know whether a vinyl pressing of this was ever released? I´m asking because Egyptian Lover did a bunch of cover versions and remixes of already famous club hits back then, and many think that those tracks were actually his own ( like the song I Need A Freak, which was first released by Sexual Harrassment).

Any idea? Has anyone heard this remix or does anybody from L.A remember this show and the remix?

I'm sorry I don't know the track you're talking about but man did I love the Egyptian lover back in the day. Many memories of skating to "Egypt Egypt" and "Girls".

He´s still doing his thing, doing club tours in Europe and such. I saw a little documentary about him the other day, French-German TV station Arte interviewed him . Nice guy, good music, and the best time when it comes to Westcoast Electro Funk. Love , love , love that type of music.

Yeah, that must be it. Of course that is not the original but that must´ve been pretty similar back then. Funny how he says "Australian Bitch" instead of "Irresistible Bitch". The audience seems to be slightly irritated. Either not familiar with Prince´s original or they just found it weird that he´d say "Australian Bitch".

Yeah I thought it was pretty crazy the way he was doing that. I didn't like it too much either. lol
