So I'm listening to Condition of the Heart (rare occurence), and everytime I do, I think of "When Doves Cry" and "Baby" on certain parts. Like when the piano shifts into another place at 1:32. there's this affect that sounds just like the beginning of WDC in his PR concerts.

Another part is 2:38 where it sounds like he's about to sing baby, what are we gonna do? I'm so in love with you...

Just sounds so alike, or maybe forgetting the fact that the same person is composing this music

That sound effect at 1:32 is actually also used in SAIMH. Might just be the extended version.

But in truth, it's all his arsenal of sounds...so I don't know if I'd call it sampling.

If memory serves correctly, the bulk if not all of atwiad was completed before the purple rain tour. If you listen to those weird spacey keyboard sounds preceding the moment you're talking about, they also sound like that yankee doodle march he played right before "do me baby" on the pr tour. They also appeared in condition of the heart. So he was probably teasing us with sounds from the then unreleased album.
