In This Bed Eye Scream! Yay/Nay?

Sorry if it's been talked about b4, but come on! Yay or nay 4 this classic? I love it! I listen to it over & over. The lyrics R kinda personal from what I've heard.
Prince says he never looks back, but it seems like he does sometimes. Especially in this song. Sounds like he regrets the Revolution breaking up. If it really is about Wendy & Lisa. What do y'all think about this classic? smile

Yay, but I do wish Prince wouldn't make himself out to be the victim in the first verse.

Well atleast he "confesses" his wrong doing in the 2nd verse & 3rd verse/bridge, whatever it is. I believe he really was sorry. Lol. Cuz things were downhill in 1996. & that was 10yrs after The Revolution. He probably missed the good ol days!

True - it is odd, I think, that he sent this song to Wendy and Lisa and asked them to work on it and then didn't use any of their ideas and produces a song that asks for forgiveness after pleading innocence to a 'crime' he was guilty of.

Still - it is a good song and it is good they have largely patched up their differences enough to work with each other from time to time, since then.

At the time it seemed amazing, now I see it was just in comparison to the album it came from. Still a nice little song, but not going to drop my pants for it.

Great Song, but probably could've been edited down a bit. Prince probably extended it so that each album could be close to 60 min exactly, since he was hell bent on doing that. Hard to believe there is no hidden track....but then again, by the time 20Ten came out, he still thought that the hidden track was still some groundbreaking innovative shit, when it is a useless idea that was never all that great to begin with.

Big Yay...my favorite from the album. I even like the ending. For some reason the instrumentral outro always sounds like music from some sort of zombie movie or something. Maybe its just me.

Not a huge fan of emancipation in general, but that is one of the better songs. I think more live instrumentation(especially drums) and arrangements could have helped.

There's something about the Emancipation era production that I love. The synths, the heavy snares, a pop beat dubbed over with funky bass. I like all of that. Even the ending of this song where it reprises into a sick guitar solo. Fucking amazing.

I jam to this on my ipod whenever it comes up on the shuffle.

Genius stuff.
