Morris Day wrote "partyup"?

I read that Morris actually wrote "party up", I can't remember where. Has anyone else heard this?
Morris musta been pretty damn angry to write that.

According to Jellybean Johnson they both wrote the song...

Morris Day wrote "Partyup" and offered it to Prince in return for a recording contract for The Time.

Morris wrote most of "PartyUp". You have to understand that everyone would work on things that others would be working on. Collaberate and Trade songs. "I wrote this killer song but it sounds like something you would do?" it's not finished take it and put some chicken grease on it make it cook. slizzling.
Everyone was very competitive trying to outdue each other.Prince erased some of his best stuff trying to figure out the panel in the studio. Just don't push that big red button over there. Of course he had to be stubborn curiosity got the best of him. Think I still have the tape with him and Morris screaming at each other. He'd erased the songs and accidently recored them fighting over the panel.
You both need a time out. Each of you go to your own corner right now!!
I think those two needed a referee instead of a way to decide who would produce what?
sorry if that was over your head...jump up and try to catch the point next time.

Prince swapped "Partyup" with Morris for "Cool".
