To me, there is a difference between 'being attracted to someone' and 'finding someone sexy.'

When I first just saw his pictures, I didn't think he was necessarily sexy either. Very handsome yes, but sexy? meh. But after I got to see the music video, listen to his music, and see him performing his songs at concerts (..dvd), I don't exactly remember when was the turning point, but before I knew it this guy became sexy as hell to me! It's amazing how he was wearing sheeny purple eyeshadow, high heels and all that, and he still convinced me he was sexy. It's a weird feeling but I think Prince in a way opened my mind about how I perceive gender and what I consider 'sexy' from the opposite sex. And he definitely made me rethink my own biases on masculinity and femininity.

It's not just his music that got me hooked, it's how he presented himself as an artist and how he presented his music. I think sometimes it's those other factors than just personality or look that end up convincing me someone's sexy.

I understand what you're saying about the music and videos, and yes, the music and lyrics of some of the songs are very sexy. But that still doesn't make me see him as a sexy person. It just means that I think that he's been masterful at "creating sexiness".

I guess I'm able to separate the person from his art...

When I think of someone as "sexy", I find that person attractive, and can picture myself with him.
If I call another woman sexy, it is because I can see why men might be attracted to that person, even though I'm a straight woman.

I agree that Prince is a good-looking man, but I don't think that he's "sexy", in that he is not someone I could picture myself with. He does not possess the physical qualities that I find sexy.

That is in no way to put him down...

I guess everybody has their own taste, I mean look at Rod Stewart - most middle aged woman find him sexy but for the life of me I do not find anything sexy about Rod Stewart. i just see a big old mess!

I guess the best way to judge if you find someone sexy by imagining if they weren't a celebrity and you passed them on the street. Would you turn around and go dayam - with Prince I DEFINITELY WOULD!!!
