Bogey and Bacall, peanut butter and jelly, Wall being on fucking point, is "classic" dipshit. An iphone is top shelf technology. Get it straight. This thing is 4g. -Wall the great

Test pressing version is much better. That's all I listen to. The released album was not that good but earlier version was great...Interactive, Endorphinemachine (with no cowbell), Race, Loose, Papa...damn.

You can't appreciate Come, even though you really want to... That is quite a dilemma. Let me think about that and get back to you. "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

If you are not blown away after Pheromone.. then I don't know.. the first three tracks alone (save the porn on the title track) are brilliant. And then there is Dark, which to me, is an essential Prince song... The album has low points.. but the highs, should hurt, in a good way.

Is it the taste or the consistency that you're having a problem with? When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Do u think it's easier to get in2 an album if u listen 2 it when it's first released? Does the anticipation & currentness alter ur opinion? For example, I kinda lost my way with Prince for a few years after Emancipation. So I've never really got in2 The Rainbow children. It's funky, I get that, I just find it kinda hard going to properly appreciate it. Yet I loved Rave after the 2nd or 3rd listen & that was only recently too. Loved Come as soon as it came out, but would I have if I was just hearing it now? I probably would cuz I like his 90s stuff. Come is goooood. Is the Rainbow Children? I am loving Everywhere & a few others so far.

Think of Come as a BIG F U to Warner Bros. I find it to be one of Prince best albums of the 90's . I personally like it more than The Gold Experience, which I think is way overrated. __________________________________________________

To me, the album "Come" seems much more straightforward as a sequence of accessible, clear, pop structured songs (except some people can't follow Prince into the unique depths of "solo") then almost all of Prince's other albums. The only "weird" parts are the spoken stuff before "Pheremone" and the dada playing around of "Orgasm".
What's not to get? I really want to know! Music is such a weird thing in terms of people's reactions. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Don't sweat it. Not everyone likes everything. Having said that, Come is one of two 90's albums I like.

Come is one of Prince's best albums/very underrated. Come, Dark, Pheromone and Letitgo are about as good as they get.

Leave it for a while, a month/whatever then go back to it. Don't give yourself a rough time over it, it's not that important.
Personally I liked it from the day it was released, cool remixes too.

Let your mind take the mystery, the dark emotions and the despair of this record in. You can't listen to Come thinking of 3121. Come is dark as hell. It's the Black Album of the 90s.

See if you can track down "The Dawn" -- IMO the best album covering this period of his career (even though it's not an official album)...

Come is INCREDIBLE! Haha
The title track is just one of his best jazz efforts. The horns are slamming! Everything else just fits perfectly together for me. I wish he would have added 'Strays Of The World' on there. Nevertheless I really appreciate this album, there a few moments that I rather he worked on more. Such as 'Orgasm' as funny as that song is, it should have been scratched all together, the guitar is from 'Private Joy' and it's pretty questionable. But as a whole, this album is great! I think this is a 'DARK' album from Prince. Darker than the 'The Black Album' Maybe he wanted to record something as Dark since 'TBA' it was released in the same year..1994? I believe?
It has a lot emotional dark sides for me; Such as: DARK, (SOLO..I mean where did that come from? One of his best songs on the album for me! It sounds like a slave hymn, that an escaped slave could sing while they are on the 'Underground Rail Road' Haha. It just has that vibe. I'm just saying..It sounds like he was really so low when he recorded this) Loose! Something I never heard from him, I dig it though. I don't know?? Letitgo as R&B as it is, it's still rather sad.
I dig this album, and the more I listen to the song I realize how dark it was. For me, anyways. The cover is really creepy, and he looked like he wanted to portray some sense of death during this album. It's a beautiful death for me though...lol
You should give it another spin! It's Button Therapy, Baby!

Try not listening to the title track, start with Space.
IMHO title track is nowhere near as funky as it thinks it is, I much prefer the electro version but that's all by the by really....
basically an 11 minute intro track can be tough on the ears and may be mucking with your perception of the rest of the album.

excellent,
if only "Lovesign" had been on the Come album, then.. perfect.
Come - Exodus - The Gold Experience, to me the 1994-95 era was brilliant.
The excellent bootleg "The Dawn":

The Dawn is where it's at. Proof positive that Prince shouldn't be allowed choose his own tracklists.

Co-sign. The way I appreciate his albums is picking the gems and sticking with them. My favorite is Dark but there is also Space, Letitgo and I love the horns on the title track. Papa is real funky too if not a little too short. "Don't abuse children lest they turn out like me" or something to that effect.

i guess the problem is half of the album just seems really forgettable to me right now. i've listened to it maybe 4-5 times and i cant even remember what the title track sounds like lol [Edited 1/12/12 9:18am] Bogey and Bacall, peanut butter and jelly, Wall being on fucking point, is "classic" dipshit. I love it. Although sometimes I blush even if I'm alone in my car, at all the "come-ing" going on.

I must say I did not like come that much when I first heard it. I believe at the time letitgo might have been one of the tunes I liked. Last year fresh from seeing several of the 21 night stand shows in L.A., i revisited albums I didnt own or initially get into. While its still not high on my list, I will say that Papa and Dark have become two of my faves. As a matter of fact, I kept playing papa for a week straight. I Know its a dark song, but when they get to that line" be careful how you treat your kids, and the full on rock thing happens o.m.g. I also like the funky groove that kicks in on come close to the end. [Edited 1/13/12 15:27pm] Most things that I worry about, never happen anyway
