Do you think the 00's brought us much more greater aftershows recordings better then Small Club

In the 90's Small Club was one of the rare boots with so much

anatemic guitar solos and inspired performances overall.

But starting with One Nite Alone tour Prince started playing

amazing aftershows witrh great setlist and even

more passionate guitar solos.

In my book London Markee 2002 aftershow and Copenhagen

Vega kill the shit out of Small Club performance.

Do you think the value of Small Club boot is diminishing since many more exciting aftershows

are out there?

i think small club has the adavantage of being one of the very first boots released with soundboard(is that grammitically correct??!!)

So i guess its like me still proclaiming 7.6.86 is still Ps best live show ever(its pro recorded etc and i was 12 when i first saw it)

so the memory plays tricks

probably why chocolate box is still held so dearly in alot of peoples minds..that grainy old piece of shit!!

so to answer the question.personally i never dug small club that much but yes its a classic and it must have been AMAZING to see-that was in the day when aftershows were still very much hit and run and werent advertisedrather cynically for $60 at the end of a gig.

But i have heard some amazing aftershows in the 00's despite not being on soundboard.

that dutch one with flashlight is off the hook as was the drum n bass after show at indigo

(im sure someone will post setlists-im lazy)

It really comes down to a matter of opinion. I personally think the "Small Club" show kills the "Vega" show. Aftershows in the 00's came to be expected and were planned ahead a lot of the times. It killed the spontaneity of it all. The shows used to have unreleased songs and a few covers and it turned in to a bunch of crappy covers sung by the backup singers and a few gems here and there to appease the folks that just put down some extra $$$ to see it.
