prince is playing drums, a drumkit. if u wanna play this on drums then listen to the song, listen to the bassline, try to play phrases instead of analysing single beats. a drummer's job is to play FOR the song.

ironically prince's playing on "a million days" is imo awful; sloppy, clunky and very unimaginative. shame as it's one his better flowing melodies of recent years.

the first prince songs i played on drums were earlier songs such as "i wanna be your lover" and "head". simple in the pocket grooves that ooze rhythm.

I really love the song - wish John had played drums on it.

Totally agree that it's one of his better melodies in the last decade. Those background vocals on the second verse are incredible - just goes to show that when he's on, HE'S ON!

Prince performed this song at the first Toronto show - it was pretty underwhelming as all the passion was taken right out of it during the performance in a 3/5 full stadium.
