Emale (The song) Do you guys remember way back when Emancipation first came out? The internet was just starting to get big and Prince actually owned the domain name www.emale.com
I don't recall exactly what was on the site, but it was something Prince had created. Then, after a period of time, I checked www.emale.com and it was a gay porn site. (Somebody forgot to re-up the domain registration.)
I just wonder if that particular domain could have been worth some money at some point between then and now. Maybe some company would have wanted to purchase it for their brand.
Also, I wonder if Prince would have somehow acquired www.prince.com if he could just make that his homebase online.

Yes I remember him owning the domain but don't remember anything being there.
This was in 1996 when the Internet and email were making their debut. I really liked how he was embracing this new technology and wrote a pretty cool about it too. Then to go on to be a pioneer in this space to only later turn his back on it completely. What a bone head move that was! And yes he could have easily owned prince.com with all of his countless legal teams back in the day.... ALL I know is that 'Emale' is such a fantastic song by Prince. It's one of my most played on 'Emancipation'. It's also cool that he was one of the very first, to pioneer the use of the web, internet, and the email! I would say eh was the first artist to make a song about it. Such a cool, sexy, and special song! I wish he did own the domain to the name. It's Button Therapy, Baby! | |
