Still Waiting appreciation One of the first Prince ballads that I loved and I still do 30 years later that says a lot about this song-such a timeless ballad. I just love the whole Prince cd/record

Thank God you're talking about the song and not the orger!
Seriously, It's a cute track but I've never put it on any of my mixes, never seemed to fit anywhere but on its album. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I love this song so much, it's actually amongst my most favourite Prince songs of all time. He should play this song live, I'm always listening to the Atlanta 1980 performance. Still, ooh, need someone to hold onto me late at night. If you're out there sugar, please come to me. Ooh, Oooh, Ooooooh, don't you know, Still waiting, waiting on your love. Your sweet, sweet love.

Love it! that entire album...i think when i first got into Prince, the other albums closesly surrounding it are just so flashy and exciting that i ignored it for WAY too long. [Edited 12/17/11 20:56pm] I can make you H.A.P.P.Y

I wish I still had my cassette copy of Prince's self-titled album just for this song. I hate that the first note is cut-off on the CD release. It irritates the hell out of me for some reason. "I Was FINE Back in the Day!"

Eh, the only ballad on Prince that I dig is "It's Gonna Be Lonely." The other two ("Still Waiting" and "When We're Dancing Close and Slow") are a bit too sappy. Now, the live version of "Still Waiting" I love. He really nails the song live.

IMO. This is a flawless album. It doesn't fall short in any way compared to the highly acclaimed Dirty Mind.
small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!

ehhh, no, this is so bland and even amateurish...
it's because of songs like this that I can't fully enjoy his 70s era... With You is even worse...
and I agree with rialb: "It's Gonna Be Lonely" is like 10000000 times better than the rest of the 4U/Prince ballads...

Dang, I forgot all about "With You." So four out of the nine tracks on Prince are ballads, that seems like too many.

One of my favorite songs from my 3rd favorite Prince album. Not as good as It's Gonna Be Lonely but still awesome

My sister hipped me to this song....Great song! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I used to think it sounds like a commercial break for Lifetime channel untill I heard his live version with Sue Ann Carwell.
Now THAT performance kicks major ass.

I love this track, but the live performances circulating leave me reeling. He was so different from anyone I'd ever seen or heard back then. He was special. He's still special, but in a different way.
