Extraloveable has always been one of my favorite songs (released or unreleased) so this version of it is great. But, Prince, WHY DO YOU LET OTHERS RAP ON YOUR TRACKS??!! IT DIDN'T WORK WITH DOUG E. FRESH, NOR EVE, NOR TONY M, STOP. YOU DON'T NEED IT. IT WORKS WHEN YOU DO IT AND THAT IS FINE IF YOU WANT TO (DEAD ON IT, STICKY LIKE GLUE ETC), BUT STOP USING GUEST RAPPERS!!!!! I'M NOT EVEN SURE WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH WITH IT, IT DOESN'T GIVE YOU STREET CRED, IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU HIPPER (YOU ARE BEYOND HIP--UR ROYALTY!), SO FUCK IT--JUST CHEAPENS YOUR OTHERWISE GODLY MUSIC.

Besides that I love the new version.

I wish u heaven

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

no this new version lacks the energy of the original. the original speaks of funk this new version is like someone just waking up from a nap

EL2011 would be much better if it didn't have that rap in the middle, that kinda ruins it and puts me off playing it, apart from that Prince's music and vox etc are nice.

But there is no way on God's earth its is better than the original thats absolutely ridiculous.

omg i prefer the old version, it's all gritty & is essence of raunch, i think prince had a boner as he sang it but the new song is really bold move.

the song is legendary, it would always be a job 4 him to equal such a cool tune but he did an amazing job! i really like the new version! he sounds really sexy but cautious & more refined, in control of himself

& i liked the idea of the rap too, she started off great but then lyrics got more naff & she fluffed it with the fake giggle like she couldn't hide her embarrassment! otherwise bloody good effort!!

Actually, yes. I think where the rap doesn't work is when he puts them (guest rappers) in a position or pov to sound "hard". Sheila and Cat sounded like they didn't gives a fuck. That's cool.

I think the new one fits "now" better than the old one fits "then". I'm curious to hear what the third version sounds like.

really? i feel that the old version would have been a hit then had it been officially released. the new version is dissapointing only when compared to the original but could possibly be the best song he's released in years.

a bit of a lazy, half assed recording compared to the heart and soul he seemed to put into the production of the original.
but thats ok, i (still) like it..

The song goes from amazingly fun to cute and OK. It just doesn't work as well for me slowed down.

The beat/synth bass/tempo etc to this could've been lifted from NPS or Rave.

A lot like 20Ten, I think some people are a little 'starstruck' by the supposed harking back to the old, when in fact the track has more in common with the clinical synth sound of 98-2000 than 15+ years previous that to.

not sure why so many are down on it being slowed down. it's not like 1999, DMSR, or Automatic are all that up-tempo.

I wasn't berating it for being slower in tempo than the original, just comparing it to the material above.

But I know there have been comments about the slowed down aspect, I think that is comparison only to the original, not other material from the same time frame.

yup that's it for me. I thought the tempo was fine. It's like if you heard let's go crazy at the speed of adore with a weird rap in it about elmo lol
