I read that thread. It was really sad. And if it is true... my hat is off to Prince. Really it is. It shows that this public image stuff is show... and his mama raised him right.
To make that difficult but adult decision to let nature take its course with baby is very hard to do and many people can't make that decision alone. They wait until the hospital go to court and gain guardianship in order to stop futile extraordinary treatment.
and to get the nannies to help him help Mayte to face the cold harsh reality....
Gosh.... I couldn't imagine experiencing that terrible terrible thing... and I pray I never do.
It is because of this that I don't really criticize Prince for things that happened after this... because he had to be hurting and just trying to cope the best way he knew how. Same for Mayte.
Just a terrible terrible thing. Now Manuela.... that is a whole other story. I agree but I still believe it mistreated mayte. I also believe he was spiritually in a dark place after all this. That kinda explains his sudden religious conversion. After all this I'm pretty sure he needed some help mentally and spiritually. Also, I have often wondered what was up with mayte's parents? She was obviously to young to be under his rule. Damn the money! Something was wrong with them too. They should have asked him to wait until she was older imo.

right. and with that in mind... maybe marrying a young inexperienced girl and sentencing her to never being a mother is too much. To be against medical intervention, or adoption... that just means no kids period. I think it is a hard thing at first to throw in the towel... but in the long run it is better for all parties. Look at Mani now. She is probably holding her new born with her new husband now. I don't think she would trade that in to return to being Mrs. Prince Nelson.
It is sad...especially for Prince. But probably the truth. [Edited 12/29/11 12:52pm] "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

Puleeze. Have you talked to 20 year old lately? Try to tell them that this girl is wrong, or that boy will bring you down. They NEVER listen.
They probably did the best they could by getting him to wait until she was 18. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

Yes, I agree that P's songs - most anybody's songs really - are not literal and autobiographical, although probably inspired by things the artist experienced or witnessed in his/her life. But then you kind of call him out for making himself out to be the "victim" when "he's the biggest dog/playa out there" - these comments also read too much into his lyrics and assume too much. Most songs are from the POV of the victim in love - Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart" was on the radio while driving home today, for example, among many many other broken-hearted victim love songs. Probably because it's easier to write/deliver a song from that POV than from the POV of the dog - most people aren't going to play someone then go, "gee, I gotta write a song about how evil/happy/guilty/superior/not guilty/sexy/powerful I feel now that I've dumped on someone!" This is more difficult to write about, it's more complex and introspective. "Criminal" by Fiona Apple comes to mind, but I'm sure there's some others. Which is why it's interesting that P DOES have some songs that are kind of from that POV (at least hints at bad relationship behavior on his own part) - Strange Relationship Let's Pretend We're Married Lady Cab Driver The Holy River

nursev said: Also, while I'm on the subject has anybody else ever wondered why both of his ex wives ended up with men who had rumours going around about their sexual activities? We all know about Tommy but then mani gets with a supposed sex addict who was eric-it's all interesting and maybe says something about the man and his relationships with these two women. Just a thought. I have wondered the same exact thing! :p....another curiosity that I wonder about is the rumor of Tommy Lee having Hep C (because Pamela has it apparently)....and it just makes me curious cuz Mayte ended up with him?..

From Mayo clinic website concerning sexually transmitted Hep C;
Hepatitis C is transmitted primarily by exposure to blood containing the hepatitis C virus. Transmission rarely occurs from exposure to other infected body fluids, such as semen.
So even if Tommy had Hep C.... which seems to be unlikely unless he shared BLOOD with Pamela, the chances of Mayte getting it from Tommy is slim as well. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack
