Love Or $.......12 Inch Version Man, this takes me back to the good ole days of 1986 {one of LIL MAN's best years productively}. If you bought the regular 45 r.p.m. vinyl of "Kiss" then you were really just being teased. You have to get the full 12 inch version of this baby to TRULY experience LIL MAN And The Revolution working it out. Back in the day, I would come from school and throw on this puppy and turn it up full blast.
This one finds him paying tribute in a big way to JB and Sly Stone. I like how he ends the song..."WHAT IT IS"??? I really enjoy this side of his creativity. Him and the group in the studio just funking around for fun.

VERY underrated song/version! Fear is the mind-killer.

"Revolution! Put the groove on the bus. Don't worry 'bout me, don't worry 'bout us." There's a rift out in space, and it could be the door, but you know I'm not sure.

What a time 1986 was for Prince, Wendy and Lisa's writing. It was a time we'll never see again. Like the song New Position says: "you've got 2 try my new funk.." The music they were putting out then was incredible!
Love or $ was prof of all that. Ahh the good ole days... RIAA 'nuff said. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.
RIAA 'nuff said. | |

I have a boot of all his extended B-sides, and this ranks the highest.
Also just check the inner sleeve artwork for Parade...what a blistering album and time... thank you at the very least for that P! I remember opening that up in vinyl and it was sooo exciting! Oh those were indeed the days! Life CAN be so nice!

I'm sorry to sound like a spoilsport but I thought the original demo was much better and far more funky.

I love this track. I've never heard the 7-inch version, but after hearing the song in Under the Cherry Moon, I knew I had to find it, and I got the 12-inch from somebody on the PML or PPML (I think). Guess I'll have to pull it out again and give it a spin. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

When I first heard this, I thought it was on the wrong speed. In fact, I actually enjoy listening 2 this song on 33 rpm instead of 45 rpm. When u slow down the Camille voice, it sounds like Prince is on crack or something... Don't hate me 'cause I'm NOT beautiful
