Someone finally bought the Prince Opus

For the Newbies,

Way back in 2007 A magnicent purple velvet, diamond encrusted, gold plated box set was created on the back of Princes 21nights in London with an asking price of $2100.00.

Only 950 were ever created, and once all are sold Prince will pay a special someone $21K or give them a private concert of something..

More details from the Opus site: http://www.princeopus.com/

Any hoo someone bought one and is showing it off on youtube.

Fess up!

One minute they want peace……

Then do everything to make it go away. rolleyes

What a load of shit.

You can get a 21 nights book with cd for a fiver down the road from me, plus you look less of a cock for having it.

Saw you coming 2,100 times.

I am interested how that book weighs 13kilos though. It must be made out of concrete.

It wouldn't be a Prince product otherwise!

The opus website says: "Diamond encrusted symbol of Prince's emblem adorns the cover. Jewelled signature is detachable from the opus withe the ability to be worn as a pendant or to attach to a decorated museum frame"

I know right? lol

The dude that bought it did note that "there were no diamonds on it" but he didnt sound too fussed.

My guess is because the economy has taken a nose dive since the Opus was first created, perhaps the diamonds were 'repurposed' in lieu of payment. wink

I think I put the over/under on Opus sales at 9.5 but it might have been 11.5, I just can't remember.

Whichever, we're at 1 sold as far as I know.

I thought the diamonds were only ever going to be on the "No. 1 Edition"?

I remember, because I initially thought that was why the book was so expensive, but then realised that the normal ones didn't even have the diamonds - they were only ever going to be on the one that was (is still to be?) auctioned.

As for the purple iPod, I did recall it being advertised as purple, but there's no mention of that on the website now. I remember that image funkmunki posted - was that saved from an old copy of the Opus website or is it from somewhere else?

So the pendant with diamonds is the 'Number One' edition, which is something else than the 'standard' Opus? Wow. I've never realized that. Thank Gawd I didn't buy one, cause I don't think much people did either. 2100 buckaroo's is a LOT of money for a book and an ipod with an official bootleg...

Is at least the book different? Content-wise I mean?

Has the Number One been auctioned already?

...but you realise that only the first edition version was ever going to have that, right?

I must say, though, he is no fairweather fan - he's in it for the long haul. Presumably he would have paid his money before we'd even paid our membership to Lotusflow3r.com and, despite spending over $2000 and waiting over 2 years to receive his merchandise, he's still very happy on the vid and brushes over the various issues with the 13kg (!!) book, the non-purple iPod and the two and a half year wait. Kudos to him!! thumbs up!

I wonder if there's anyone else out there who has finally received their book??

I tend to support Prince on the regular, however this is bs. Way too much for what you get. This is greed. You can get videos of the entire tour for wayyyy cheaper.
