What If Prince Revisited The "Parade" Era? He did revisit the his early 80's linn drum sound with iffy success imo [damn you, Protools!], but what if he brought back the sophisticated funk of the Parade era? I would really be interested to hear how he did it today. Xpectation was the closest he got to going back to that sound, & I enjoyed that album very much so, but he wasn't singing on those songs.

It couldn't be any worse than "20ten" was....
I have always been a big fan of most of Prince's instrumental work. Albums like 20Ten are just shelf filler to me.

Yeah, nothing distinct but definitely something in the background. An overall Parade floatiness maybe.
Let's hope he doesn't do it. He's not the same person and would seriously just ruin the whole thing. His impact is like more central heating nowadays as opposed to the volcano he once was. Nice to have on but no chance of setting the house on fire.
Best add that live that doesn't count. He's still flawless and untouchable. Gives me an eruption in my pants if anything. | |

If he did revisit the Parade era, he'd just fuck it up like he's always been fuckin' shit up for a bit now. So, let's hope the only revisiting he does is remastering the album and adding some unedited outtakes to the project (yeah, like THAT will ever happen)!!

He already did with Reflection, parts of PE, and 3121 (Guitar original website version) imo. You want more sax romp?

I'm talking whole thing: Dreamy adventuress violins, sax, the blending of the snappy live drums with the linn drum machine right under them, the reverb...The wonderful melodies & all that good stuff....
