1. Purple Rain from the Prince And The Revolution: Live concert. He starts out playing the Hohner during the rhythm section, then the scream goes dark for a few moments. When the lights come back on, he's spotlighted holding the white Cloud and the song erupts.

2. Sign O The Times performance on the MTV Awards, wearing the jean jacket.

3. R&RHOF guitar solo of While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Prince and The Rev American Music Awards 1985 "Purple Rain". He pulled out all the tricks, the falsetto, the scream, the eyes, the spin, the emotion, and then the guitar playing.

Purple Rain at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne Germany 2011. (the show that ended after one song...)

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

V10LETBLUES

While there are so many, these always jump to mind.

1986 Parade gig for MTV in Wyoming was awesome and fun. That performance encapsulates so much of what makes Prince great. The band was equally outstanding.

Creep in Coachella was jaw dropping

While My Guitar Gently Weeps, RR Hall Of Fame showed that even among his peers, he really has no peers.

There are Many.

Right now I am digging:

Baby I'm a star, on the DVD special edition of
Purple Rain

Raveun2... on Small Club

Press conference show from the superbowl performance (with all the bored journalists).

Beautifulstrange and Bambi from Melkweg2night

Motherless Child always comes to mind. Oh yeah - and "Guitar" from the Leno show.

the best I have seen recently is DMSR from the Musicology tour

It's a high quality video and really captures the feel of the live experience

America from the Parade tour is pretty awesome too

I can't just choose one, he has so many great performances!

Some of my favourites (that I can think of):

How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore - 1999 tour

Head - birthday show 1986

Gotta Broken Heart Again and Still Waiting - Dirty Mind tour (great falsetto)

Any performance of The Question Of U, Nothing Compares 2 U or Shhh

And most recently, a performance of The Love We Make, and of Dear Mr Man and If You Want Me To Stay (Sly) both from the North Sea Jazz Fest earlier this year.
