The Prince black album seems too short compared to The Beatles impressive masterpiece - The Black Album is not that varied in styles like The White album,

BUT: what else could be said - camparing these 2 masterpieces???

Prince's "Black Album" is too ___ compared to the Beatles "White Album"?

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

they arent comparable

I liken The Dream Factory to The White Album as more band members were really involved with their vision and input on full display as The White Album was damn near each memeber doing their own thing and putting it together as a full band release. The Black Album is nothing like that.

I honestly don't find "The White Album" all that impressive to be honest. It almost seemed to me that The Beatles were trying too hard when they made that album. If it would have been a single, instead of a double album, I would like it much more than I do. I rarely listen to that one.....

the beatles album is called "the beatles" and not the white album

the other album has no name nor artist name

the first album is a double, the second is a single

the albums were recorded over 30 years apart

there is next to no comparison between them

I knew someone was going to get all "technical" about "The White Album" lol

Back in 1987, I thought SOTT made the same impression as The Beatles (white album) on me on first listen. Seemed like a lot of uncommercial experiments and attitude, and then a few gems.

Black Album is better, but if The Beatles cut the crap tracks then the "White Album" would be better.

Agreed. There are some great tracks on the white album. But the kooky self-indulgent stuff keeps it from even seeming like an album.

bob george is a lot like revolution no. 9 .. kinda crappy

when 2 are in love is spectacular .. the rest is fun and ok

most of the white album is rediculously good .. with some annoying but interesting crap in between

prince black album is long forgotten .. hate to break it to ya org. ers

white album .. not so much .. still in constant rotation on the radio

white album wins

1 This all just ur opinion

2 Popularity doesn't make anything better

3 Using the radio is desperate. Horrible music is played everyday.

(I am a fan of some of The White Album BTW)

The White Album is heaven from start to finish.

the Black album is only legendary because it was pulled.

And there you have it!

Apples and Orange.

If anything: The White Album can be compared to Sign of the Times.

I agree with you, (the first part you said), cuz I simply can't get enough if this thing, "The White Album" is fantastic, only 1 filler: "Revolution 9" (like someone else mentioned)..

the rest is pure dope, its a "creative" masterpiece.

About comparing apples and oranges that's true.. maybe it's only fair to compare the White Album to one of Prince's most "creative" albums: Sign 'O' The Times. (like Riverman said 2 posts up)

I like the Black Album by Prince a lot, but imo. it isn't a masterpice like the White Album, by Beatles.

the Black Album is funky like hell, but most of the track is for the die-hard Prince fans only, right?

The Beatles' album is known for its content -- a double-disc set full of top-notch songs, many of which the general public know (and are still played on the radio).

Prince's album is only known for its legendary "bootleg" status . . . virtually no one outside of diehard Prince fans would know what's on it.

Right. When 2 R In Love and Bob George (and okay, Superfunky) a good to great tracks, and I think Dead On It is funny, but otherwise...

And I must say that I never skip Revolution 9... although I won't put it on especially wink Those first John & Yoko albums on the other hand... stay away!

Prince's "Black Album" is too "Full of Filler" compared to the Beatles "White Album"

That;s saying a lot as the Beatle's White Album is LOADED with filler.

Which one was it unique ?

IF there is any filler on the white album, it's glorious filler. The filler on The Black Album (Le Grind, Rockhard, 2 Nigs) is either crap, or (Cindy C, Dead On It) mildly amusing. And okay, once you edit Cindy C down to 2 minutes, as I've done, it actually becomes reasonably good.
