Politics I've seen a lot of discussion on Prince's religious views on this forum, but hardly any focus on his politics. I'm even a little hesitant to even go there, but also interested to hear what people here have to say about it. I can think of some great songs he's come out with that are spot on... You Will Be Moved, The Voice, Sign ☮' The Times, Party Up, Uptown, The War, Undisputed, Lavaux, Money Don't Matter Tonight, 1999, Ronnie Talk to Russia... and others that are a little sketchy... Avalanche, We March, 2gether. So, is he a lightweight in this area? Is he in touch with the political reality? When I started typing, I was pretty much of the mind that he's been isolated in his views, kind of kooky, talking about chemtrails and other conspiracy type theories... but now as I think about it, I am wondering if he might be more astute in his political observations than people give him credit for. Thoughts? "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

Not 2 get off topic but I don't understand why Prince is a J.W. Does he really need them? I guess he likes to be part of a group. Back on topic: I think Prince revels in his own individuality & he values personal freedom above all else. I know he gets bored easily. Prince is just a big adventure.

Maybe, Prince views the world & its trappings as: Spirituality meets sex with violence in it. Because I view the world as: Spirituality meets violence with sex in it. Well, those are my thoughts on this subject...for now.

If you want it to be, do you think the message is informed? His songs can be thought provoking even as he makes you wanna dance. I guess that's his gift. He may not be quite as deep as Bob Marley or Bob Dylan, but he gets people up and moving. I don't know if anyone but a serious fan would enjoy the above playlist, but I'm diggin' it. Good playlist. Sexuality is a song I would add to this, to me it is political in a way.
