When did Prince lose you? For some here this is life. Their mantra is 'Prince now and forever'
He is the be-all to end-all. For others this is about remembering a time when he really moved us and maybe trying to reconnect. So here, I'm talking to those fans ...the ones who the bright light of Prince's greatness now appears dim and distant from a far off galaxy light years away When did he lose you? Very good question. Allow me to take my time on this one. I think the truth is I lost Prince as soon as I found him. Let me explain. I became a fan because of Lovesexy. First the Dortmund concert that was aired on tv in the middle of the night (I was yawning and feeling sleepy all the way through) and then I bought the LP. Wonderful! Amazing! Best I ever heared! I wanted to know everything about Prince, so I bouhgt all his LPs. (That was really cheap in those days because they were being replaced by CDs.) I also found out that Sly and the Family Stone was a major influence so I got into them too. Then came Batman. A disappointment, but you could say that was because of the movie. And I saw him live for the first time. Then came Graffiti Bridge and to cut a long story short, none of the albums he released since then have had the same impact as those early ones. But the live shows were good. And when he started to play with Larry Graham, I really liked it. So that P became JW after that was really not that surprising and Rainbow Children was when I really tuned out. Until Musicology and 3121. Those cds were alright. And now that he's playing Europe again, my love for Prince is coming back. Because his live shows still kick ass! So that's my Prince story. Lost and found... | |

its the first album i really didnt run out to buy . i never really have gotten into it . I like maybe 2 songs ... most of it ... is horrible in my opinion .
as i type this , i will actually give it another listen maybe tonight ..
but i truly dont care when his next album comes out . Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet. |

Musically, he lost me after 3121 album. I know Prince-fans don't want to hear this, but Prince's losing streak started with Planet Earth and he has yet to break this streak. | |

People don't necessary have to buy exactly everything that Prince is saying OR recording for that matter to qualify for the right to properly bitch about something Prince-related.

Can't say they he ever totally lost me, although I lost interest in anything new 1997 and on. Still ran out to get the new cd, but pretty much shelved them shortly after. I couldn't pass up the live shows though. He has enough great stuff prior to that to keep me listening. TRUE BLUE |

Prince will never completely lose me, although my interest may wane from time to time. Prince was my first......live concert.

He lost me right after SOTT, I have been trying to believe again ever since but, nope. Everything after that sounds like a crazy person or someone whose "belief system" was shattered and they won't admit it.
