Prince Cirque Du Soleil Album

I've been trying to put together a good song list for a P Cirque show. It's hard to capture every major aspect of P's carrer in 90 minutes. I tried my best. So here's my idea of what a show would sound like. Tell me what you think?

Intro

Uptown

Controversy / Dirty Mind / Superfunkycalifragisexy / Controversy (Reprise)

Darling Nikki (Transition)

Take Me With U / Raspberry Beret

Pop Life

Money Don't Matter 2 Night

17 Days (Transition)

7

Thieves In The Temple (Transition)

Gett Off

Let's Go Crazy / Delirious

I Would Die 4 U

When Doves Cry

1999

Little Red Corvette

I Wanna Be Your Lover

Sexy Dancer

Housequake

The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker

I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man

Cream

U Got The Look

Joy In Repetition

Anotherloverholenyohead (Rock Version)

Sexy M.F. (Transition)

If I Was Your Girlfriend

Pink Cashmere

Scandalous

Diamonds And Pearls

Purple Rain

Let's Go Crazy (Reprise) - Finale

Interesting idea, but what acts would the Cirque folks do with what number?

All that bathing in purple rain just can't be good for your health...

You'd have to get a Cirque director to explain all the details of every number, but what I was thinking is that each number or group of numbers represent a part of P's life such as...

Controversy, Dirty Mind, Superfunkycalifragisexy

represent the nasty Prince

Take Me With U / Raspberry Beret, Pop Life

represent the psychadelia "Around The World In A Day" Prince

7 & Gett Off

represent the early 90's Egyptian Prince (3 Chains O Gold)

etc.

I was looking through the final set list and I just had to add Peach and When You Were Mine.

If he gets involved with the Cirque, odds are it'll be original music composed for it, with some familiar ones throughout the show. It would prob. be a story he collaborated with the show creators on.

All I know is there were a lot of people coming out of The Beatles "Love" and headed straight to the shop or to the Revolution lounge.

I'm sure at some point P's thought about doing some sort of Broadway musical around his songs. If the Cirque doesn't do it, I could see the same people who did "Jersey Boys" or "Movin Out" coming up with something.

Great set but I think Erotic City should be right before the finale
