DJJ...

I do not think that I am the only person that could make Prince happy in a relationship of some kind.

Do I believe that I am common enough to offer him a smile or a perspective that has not crossed his mind? Yes.

The one thing that may distinguish me from Prince's other female fans that would love the opportunity to "Try," with a relationship that could result in a long lasting "Happy," relationship, is creativity. Beside my desire to care for a man in an every day routine way, I am an artist and I can dance. (That's something Prince seems to like.)

All that I am saying is that I believe that I am worth the attempt at a friendship. Is it so wrong to put that much value in myself without someone thinking that I have gone off the deep end?

I have debated with this with most people I have met throughout my life...And for all of those people that say that Prince wouldn't be interested are people that know that I can't sing.

Then I think...Where in the Bible does it say that I have to be some "Limelight," Female to have true love with a man that is in the limelight. It's only mountains and the sea, so I've heard.

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.

I've thought that on occassion myself...that the relationship was purely imaginary, but only a very small part of me believes that. And it isn't painful to say that loving Prince has been the greatest love of my life even if we never held hands or spoke face to face.

The heart of the matter truly exists in the song, "Future Soul Song."

Prince sings so beautifully that one day we will all sing in harmony. That appears to mean that the King of the mountain top could harmonize in some fashion with the little one in the valley. cool

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.

Equality is a Range that includes every living soul.

That is the Word of God's love.

So I knock on Prince's door, hoping he'll let me in.

Does it work for you? Are your attempts, to convince Prince that he should be with you, making your life better?

Does your life improve by isolating yourself from other possible lovers because you phantasize about you and Prince being together one day?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Hmmm... I don't know about that. Sometimes isolation can add to creativity. More time to think and put things into perspective. Just my belief. shrug Now as far as 'feeling bad for him', well he's been pretty blessed throughout his lifetime musically, moreso than others, but besides that, I gather he experiences life issues just like every other human being.

'Updated' edit

lol I was thinking the same thing when I typed what I said. I do agree that it can be a good thing. Example he said some things about in the beginning how he didn't have much exposure to what was happening musically outside of some records (something like that) and I think that kind of thing and being mostly exposed to Minneapolis, helped create what we know as 'Purple Music' and the minneapolis sound.

As well as what you've stated in a persons personal time and space.

It can be adverse if the isolation causes one to think they don't need to learn anything else from anyone or that they're ideas are all they need.

the 1980's proved that feeding off other people and having 'real' life experiences can cause a bigger explosion of creativity.

I felt sorry for him when he allowed that whole 'rap' influence in his music in the 1990's, prob more like embarassement.

During ventures of 'rap' in songs like Love or Money, It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night, Alphabet St & Positivity, it didn't resemble rap, it felt like something Prince created which made it fresh

(Highlighted part) Very true. I think that isolation did help to produce that 'Minneapolis sound' that became Prince's stamp on his music.

(2nd bolded part) I agree with that too. It's always good to embrace ideas of others which helps to contribute to/or provide a wider or more clear view/extension of one's creative abiliities. Why settle for a half-filled glass, when you could see it overflowing (with a multitude of ideas)?

Usually no. But for some reason lately I have. After watching all these Emancipation Era interviews and reading all these magazine articles from the 90s, his life is kinda depressing. He seemed so SURE that him and Mayte were gonna last and he was free and yada yada. I mean hes 53 with no kids a miscarriage and 2 failed marriages. I guess alot of things are his fault when it comes to relationships but I honestly dont think he knows any other way to live. Which is sad.

eek

Have you seen pictures of Andy Allo? Have you seen her laughing at the stage? faint

He's doing fine, better than most twice divorced men of 53. Really. If he would have wanted to be in a long time marriage, he could have. However, that demands a lot of hard work trying to understand and relate to eachother, adjusting to eachother and making sacrifices. Maybe that's not his forte? Anyhow, for a single guy of his age, he is in a good place compared to most guys in a similar situation his age.

This is also true. I guess it depends on how you look at it. It's hard to tell with Prince cus he makes it seem like nothing hurts him or gets to him. He just may be the happiest man in the world. i dont know lol I do hope he is though.

It's not painful, because he's still alive and didn't have it hard like MJ :*( I really envy you cause I miss that peaceful feeling though I still get it time to time and feel like though we never met(I still can't get used to that, I honestly believe there was some connection), he's the first person I fell in love with, and it's not like some stupid school girl crush, I didn't even know I loved him in that way, it was something more deep that taught me something spiritual about myself and inspired me to challenge myself creatively, though I think it was also some sort of co-dependency from trying to fill voids in my own life cause of getting too emotionally attached.

I'll check out that song soon, it sounds good

I rather doubt that, at this point in his life, he cares what high schoolers think.

i didnt mean it like that, and im sure he does care what his younger fans think of him.. just sayin,

Well Truthfully, What needs to happen is that Prince and I need to go dancing and have a talk.

The biggest problem is that I wouldn't know what to wear.

But I don't have to daydream about dancing him under the table...I know I can do that.

The only time I've ever felt bad for him was when he lost his child with Mayte.

Otherwise, he has only himself to blame for his mistakes. "Don't cry, you made the bed in which you lie." That his current musical output mainly appeals only to lemmings is a case in point, when he doesn't seem to want to do anything with what's supposedly in his vault.

Well, no one knows why God sacrifices some one's long enduring life.

...I know this is the time of year and I always wondered when the baby's birth-date is.

In all actuality, when something like this happens, it's something that is with you every day.

I would hope that both Mayte and Prince let a sweet peace fall in their hearts whenever the loss of the baby makes them extremely sad.

I don't think that anyone enjoys this topic...yet the wind goes where it may.

That's funny how we can see in him how it worked 4 him and against him.

I think when you've 'made it' the need for outside exposure and real life become even more needful. Because you can loose sight of reality

I remember listening to the 21Nights cd how he was trying to get everyone to understand he was just like us because when he was young his mother made him go to the store and buy her panty hoes and cigarettes... I thought to myself "Prince that wasn't after 1999 and Purple Rain"

Sometimes I wonder does Prince realize what he had happening in Minneapolis was no different from what happened in Detroit & in Tenessee. Places were music styles were created and defined... like the Motown sound

i feel bad that musically he is in a quandry. all he has ever known was 2 produce himself & control every aspect of his music. but the truth is that even if he was 2 make an album in the style & superior 2 purple rain, it wouldnt have 1/10th of the impact commercially. in order 2 make a big impact commercially, he needs 2 do the 1 thing thats against his every instinct-allow others 2 produce him who can reach a younger demographic. prince was never truly embraced by rock stations & now urban stations wont embrace him because at their core is his musical kryptonite(hip hop). he has the status of a legend & the love of concert goers all over the world, but if he wants 2 release an album with legs commercially he'll probably have to compromise on this issue. rave unto the joy fantastic in 1999 only got it 1/2 right with him enlisting eve, sheryl crow, gwen stefani, ani difranco & chuck d- because prince still wrote all the songs & produced all the music. although prince says he doesnt care if he is played on the radio anymore, i think it would truly delight him if he was the straw that stirred the drink 1 more time. he has made war with the record companies, pissed off retailors by bypassing them, enraged billboard magazine by forcing them 2 count the musicology albums sold with concert tickets 2 that show and in the information age-he doesnt have an official website/facebook/twitter. it will be hard but executed right with the choice of the right producers, i know he could do it. that being said, it wouldnt bother me in the least if he defied gravity & made a liar/fool out of me creating an artistic & commercial masterpiece produced, arranged, composed, written & performed by prince. we'll see.

I feel bad for Prince all the time because he is always ignored/ underated. For instance, at the moment, Q magazine is running a poll on the 25 greatest performers of the last 25 years, or something along those lines. Madonna is one of the nominees you can vote for, but not Prince! Go figure! Stupid periodical.

Prince needs a special strategy going into his 3rd marriage.

Prince has to try to calculate which female on the planet that loves him will have the least hissy fits and the shortest in duration. wink
