Because that fake Twitter page says so

Now, I know we've all seen the million reasons why the Twitter is fake, BUT it has been running for over 16 months now which seems strange (wouldn't something claiming to be the official Prince twitter page have been shut down now?).

Anyway, one of the things we've said before is that the page never posts anything that we didn't already know. But I haven't seen anything about Prince being in London until the tweet on the page a few minutes ago that just said so.

So, if it turns out that Prince IS in London right now (ie we get other reports), then surely that would indicate that perhaps the page is being run by SOMEONE in the camp? (it's obviously not P himself). But it still remains possible that it could be an assistant, an aide, perhaps something to do with Kiran (his manager).

Anyhoo, I may be beating a dead horse here, I'm aware most people think it's 100% fake, so no flaming please, but it's just interesting to me that the page is still there and still being updated, when most of these accounts get terminated if they're fake (I'm pretty sure Twitter impersonators have to state if they are "hoax" or "parody" account in their TOS).

Kiran's 100% it's not her, Prince or anyone in the organisation.

Ironic, given the YT vigiliance, I know, but I suspect Prince's philosophy regarding Twitter is to basically just not even acknowledge its existance. So if something doesn't exist, why bother policing it? etc...

I let go of any belief that it had any connection to Prince whatsoever after the photo debacle last year. Surely no one in Prince's camp would post a fake photo - to what end? If you have backstage access, just take an actual pic, otherwise don't post anything.

I think it would be a lot easier to get Twitter to ditch the account, particularly given it sounds like they've copped a bit of grief over it (based on Gav's comment), but then, it would seem to be a lot easier to do a lot of things in Prince's world, lol

The YouTube stuff isn't handled by Prince's organisation, it's Universal Music Publishing, hence the efficiency.

Thanks Gav. So my follow up question would therefore be.... are they gonna shut this thing down?

Since, obviously they know about it as they've been asked a few times now.

Well it says 'Via London' meaning he's probably just flying through or doing a whistle stop!

But I was amused to read the below, I don't hear Prince saying that, do you?

Maybe its true. I just saw Prince at the checkout in Asda's Stevenge. He was in the 10 items or less queue and it looked like his basket contained extra value frosties, soya milk and a sell-through cheap best of Rick James 2 track CD.
