Do Yourself A Favour-Prince or Jesse Johnson I cannot believe I am saying this but I think that after all these years of listening to them both- I prefer Jesse  it just has more feeling to it  which version do u like? | |

For me the best one is Pepe Willie's 94East original called 'If you see me'. | |

Pepe Willie's is musically the most authentic and live imo, but Prince is better at getting my attention towards the lyrics and the emotion behiond it. It also has clever pop structure that could have been a great album song on Dirty Mind if it was recorded with real drums. I absolutely love Prince version. 94 east version but only because the Prince version is not in best sounding quality, if it were it would without a doubt be my favorite version. Jesse's version I never gave a fair listen to, because i felt P really left his print on the song "How Can I Stand To..Stay Where I Am? Poor Butterfly Who..Dont Understand." P | |

I am torn between Pepe's and Prince's. Pepe's is so funky and soulful. Prince's has that punk funk feel and the comedy of the end. I was not crazy about Jesse's version. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination... | |
