I have quite a few. Right now my favorites on the 20ten album is currently playing in my music player. (LayDown, Sea of Everything, Future Soul Song, Sticky Like Glue). I have to also say that a few songs from the 3121 album will always have a connection, because they remind me of the fun I had during the 2006-2007 shows. Great memories.

Anyway, I've heard people say you can never hear enough Prince songs because there's so many, and I know there's so many I haven't heard. When you do run across one for the first time, it's like getting new Prince music, when you haven't heard all the songs from his enormous catalogue.

I just happened to run across a version of the 10/18/10 Norway show where he sang the song "The Love We Make". Now I have never heard this song before..ever, (shame on me..lol) even though last year around the W2A tour during the NJ/NYC run, I remember an orger posting in the concert forums, that he wished Prince would play that song during the W2A tour, and I never sought that song out to hear what it sounded like. I wish I had, because after hearing it today, that song has such a spiritual feel to it and touches your emotions, and the lyrics speaks volumes, and I am so feellng the words to that song right now. I also loved the way his back up singers harmonized on it so beautifully. Now it's another Prince song added to my favorites list.

I know what you mean, I'm often suprised by new songs I've never heard. I find Prince's lyrics to be insightful, uplifting and prophetic. The music is always so amazing as accompaniament.

Exactly, and when you run across a song of his and listen to it for the first time, even if it's been released some time ago, and others heard it, but you haven't, it's like getting a new song. I love the words to that song, because it's empowering, inspiring, and words of strength, that one can interpret to what it means to them personally. His guitar playing just tops it off, and the harmony his backup singers bring to it, makes it even more uplifting, and gets inside your soul. Lawd have mercy...for a minute I felt like I was in a place of worship listening to that song. I absolutely love this song.

The Love We Make - Prince

These are the Desperate is the day that is 2morrow
4 those who do not know the time has come
2 whip the dogs that beg, steal or borrow
From the table God set 4 His Son
Wicked is the witch that stands 4 nothing
All the while watching 2 see U fall
Deeper than the ditch that bred your suffering
The one being dug right now by them all

Happy is the way 2 meet your burdens
No matter how heavy or dark the day
Pity on those with no hope 4 2morrow
It's never as bad as it seems until we say

Precious is the baby with a mother
That tells him that his Saviour is coming soon
All that believe will cleanse and purify themselves
Put down the needle, put down the spoon {x2}

Sacred is the prayer that asks 4 nothing, oh
While seeking 2 give thanks 4 every breath we take, oh
Blessed are we inside this prayer
4 in the new world, we will be there

The only love there is, is the love we make {x2}
(The only love there is, is the love we make)
Only love there is, only love there is
The only love there is, is the love we make (Yeah)
The only love there is, is the love we make

Abolutely~on all of that. Case in point: after reading your post, I called up the lyrics and read them...that set a certain understanding of the song....now I read the lyrics again and there's more there then when I first read....literally, I was contemplating those same sentiments over the weekend~ now, you (and Prince) have helped put the situation in perspective~that's why I love his music.

Now I just have to find out what cd this song is on. I must have this song. (Okay, I'm not going to lie, that song made me cry a bit. lol) I'm good now though. Kind of makes you think about how there are people, that you run across in your life, that for some reason or another are filled with so much wickedness or just plain evil ways and want to hurt or drag you down in their misery... just because... but if you let them, then they win.

Another message I get from that song, is that when experiencing dark times in your life, and if and when you reach those dark times, to not let it win over your spirit and drag you down, but to hold on to your spiritual beliefs, and let that be your strength and guide, to get you through it--whatever that personal choice you made of what your spiritual belief is to you. That's the message I get personally from that song. So yes, that's the song I'm connecting to right now.

The video version of "Willing & Able". It is so much better (to me) than the album version.

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

I love that song as well...it's a soul soother for sure; there would be nothing greater in this world than if we could all love one another.

It's something I have to work at everyday as it's not easy with some people lol

And btw, you can get the song on the 3 disc " Emancipation" album...it's the last song on the 3rd CD.

If you don't have it, I highly recommend it.

I'm always stumbling upon Prince songs I've never heard either... which is fun, as it's "new to me" anyway.
