I'm sorry not 2 know, but what's the story behind the FAM-thing?

Fam, short for family. I think Prince made it up to distinguish a fan (fanatic) from someone who appreciates his music.

In reality, it's kinda like the other way round.

A fan is someone who appreciates and collects Prince's music releases.

Someone who calls themself a fam is an ass-kisser who think Rave is the best album of his career, and thinks that the NPGMC havea fantastic system going.

Anyone who calls themselves a fam needs a punch in the face.

Well spoken 'lovebizzare'. There will always be obsessive or irrational people in "fam" AND "fan" camps. I prefer to count myself as a "casual enthusiast" when it comes to someone wanting to put a label on ME.

8. stop enjoying other music, mtv or radio
9. buy a red corvette, cloud guitar, overpriced junk etc.

10. sell your entire music collection whenever Prince does something that totally pisses you off like i've seen dozens of bandwagon Prince music lovers do in the past 10 years...

I have also been extremely critical of P's efforts at various points since Lovesexy. I am somewhat wary of NPGMC, seeing that about 6 years ago, I gave the NPG my credit card number to purchase Crystal Ball and I never received it. I'd love to hear the new stuff when it comes out but it won't kill me to not have it. Some "fams," on the other hand, seemingly scoff at you if you don't. Big deal.

It's funny how the Prince community has fragmented in recent years.

I can deal with Fam after all a Fan is something you plug in a wall to cool off, LOL

Anyway did we forget something here...We are all here because of Prince and his Music, Philosophies, Religion, etc. In all these years he hasn't done ya' wrong "HE" really does care about you guys!

If someone wants to be called a Fam, so what, if you don't then don't, but mind your own business, I am a Fam, A Fan, A Friend, and a Brother to him. Some of you are so shallow.
