Theres a version on (I think) a soudcheck from the ONA tour where he does a medley of Automatic & Shake. Great stuff.

I always thought he could make a pretty cool E.P, mainly him at the piano, same chords, singing Automatic, Shake & People Without, with stabs of Madhouse 6 thrown in for good measure

Oh the video, when he turns around, that. The sexy sneer, the hat, hair, gloves, short jacket, the hip swivel, everything is just so right with it. This is my favorite era.

Still one of his best 'jams' ever and also so very typical of his music. Its for me the song that probably best 'describes' his early sound (his sound unto and including 1984) / The Minneapolis sound and probably one of his most influential songs, soundwise: a mixture of electronical influences (Kraftwerk, Gary Numan), Linn-drum driven funkbeats, sound-effects, distorted vocals and some rock-guitar to make it sound extra sleazy.

I don't like it

I think some people dont like it, because they think its too long.. but to me that it makes it work so well.. the length and the combination of the sounds gives it a certain hypnotic quality that always draws me into it.

this song left out SUPERIOR and kick-ass jams like Lust U Always, Purple Music, Chocolate, or All Day All Night, if I'm not mistaken
