Prince likes to be unpredictable.

He just forgets that he's been unpredictable for years and it doesn't have the same effect as it would of in the past.

I see his intentions .. but the novelty has worn out.

Edit - I guess that's why we keep coming back for more .. He keeps us guessing and there's always something happening. Well, there is on the org anyway.

I do not think its done deliberately. That is, 90% of the time. Most REAL artists, change their minds very very often and it is because they go with feelings instead of thoughts. Prince moves like water or the wind. Always changing, never predictable. He goes naturally with this flow and its a connection that is always growing, feeling, responding.

A little stability and trustworthy statements never hurt anybody.

Plus if he stopped being a "people pleaser" why feel the need to do all the underhanded tricks to get attention?

Maybe its as simple as, he doesnt have an answer or the answer you were expecting? So either avoids the answer or eludes to an answer so that it gives him room to go either way? Finally when he makes up his mind, we see the results. I think its safe to say to not go by what he says but by what he does.

It may be that some eccentric fans will defend him blindingly but I wouldnt say Im one. I agree he can be quite hypocritical but that is just who he is and people getting riled up about it, isnt going to change that. Peruse past his antics to wonder why and you get an explanation that may not justify his behavior, but rather may give you an end to confusion.

Having listened to him since 1988, I can honestly say the Prince "double speak" is par for the course. The mystery of "Prince" is no longer there, hence the anticipation for future projects get greeted with tepid anticipation.

I'm still waiting for Crystal Ball 2......

he seems playful by nature, in the early days he can be seen making stuff up, creating illusion & dramas... everyone around him being coached to go along with it all. some people might be irritated by it, but i think it's just part of performance, pure romanticism. prince is a natural
