--- Your right they are crazy. I enjoy the entire cd with the exception of the Music Soulchild portion. I think that Music is just out of his element and do not think he untalented just not able to keep up with Prince. I think people do not realize that this is just a live jam, an aftershow. It is not going to be perfect and maybe that is the reason Prince is just getting around to putting one out now. | |

I like "Joy In Repetition" and "The Balad Of Dorothy Parker"
I also like "Peach" which is not Peach at all but just a 10 minute funk romp. But that's ok, it cool. 2 Nigs is just about ok, but the rest is nowhere near the magic of performances like Bambi & Whole Lotta Love. And to put Musiq and George Clinton on there right after Joy In Repetition just stops the flow of the disc dead in it's tracks. It's really like "Holy shit, he's done it, he's finally released a kick ass aftersho...oh wait a minute, what's this? WTF? aaah, shit, what a waste". I know it's been said a 1000 times before, but why oh why oh fucketyfuckfuck why the hell is this 3cd set so damn boring? He had such a wealth of material to pick from with performances of "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man", "Dolphin", "Calhoun Sq", "All The Critics Love U In New York", "Something In The Water [does not compute]" "Whole Lotta Love" "The Question Of U" And so on and so forth. Yet, all that's ended up on this set is a handfull of kickmintheballs cool ass jams that pound hard and steady. An overdose of boring and lame stuff with silly prince speech. And a piano medley that goes absolutely fucking nowhere. I know, I know, it's a "Medley" but I'd rather have had him do 4 songs completely on piano that 15 snippets on 1 minute or even less. Why the hell is "Condition of the Heart" even credited as a seperate track when it's only 2 seconds long? But that's just tipical of Prince, first he waits 25 years before he does a live set and then he doesn't even wait until the tour is OVER before he makes an album out of it. If he was gonna cut up shows to compile an album anyway than he could've waited 2 more months and used parts of the european performances as well. Instead he releases this album and no less than a month after, he releases a bunch of European and Japanese sound check songs that beat anything on ONA out of the water. Another good example: he waits 7 years, knowing how crazy people are over "Empty Room", yet constantly holds out on a release, as if the song was worth a million bucks and is kept aside for a very special release. And then after all this time, he decides to cast if off as an obscure download through the npgmc. I just don't understand that. Probably never will. But hey, it's his choice and it's absolutely none of my fucking business anyway. But I do get annoyed with it. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

Stop Dissing Musiq! He's a talent and a half and he's much better than ppl like Usher and Sisqo.
at least he pays attention 2 vocal sincerity and none of that "thong-tha-thong-thong" garbage. He ain't no barber cause he B bakin' the bread correctly. True baker. | |

I think you guys are way too hard on Musiq here. Yeah, his performance on the aftershow disk is lackluster but ya'll act like he's the antichrist or something. He's a real nice guy with some talent, he acknowledges his influences, he's not too full of himself, and "Don't Change" was one of the most beautiful singles of the past year. Give him a break.
As for the jamming on the aftershow disk, I have to agree with some and say that more than half of it is a bit disappointing. If you want to hear good jamming, turn off this disk and put on an old Parliament or Funkadelic CD, because the aftershow just doesn't cut it. | |

Bataclan & Nighttown are SCREAMING to be released!! Something in the Water just blows my mind!! | |
