Prince Curse Claims Lopez Tonight

So, no matter how you may see it, it looks like the Prince curse has claimed another late night show victim with George Lopez's show. He's already claimed Arsenio Hall, Rove Live, Rosie O'Donell, and many others. Even the shows he was on that still exist (SNL, Letterman, Leno, etc.) had major problems that almost shut down the shows less than a year after his appearance. Guess if you're gonna go out, Prince is definitely the best swan song!

Strange coincidence or something more sinister?

Don't blame this on Prince. Blame Mr. Obama, congress & the senate.

Unfortunately we will be seeing alot more shows cancelling because of the economy.

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

It's just a humorous coincidence. Nobody is blaming him. Just tongue in cheek.

It sounds serious because they're all factual situations that actually happened. No one believes Prince is the cause of any show's demise. Just funy coincidences.

Prince is the man. But that doesn't make him un-pokeable. wink

That's a post about Carmen Elektra's divorce from Dennis Rodman. Either way, this post is about coincidence's of prince performing on a show and then it getting cancelled. It's not about Lopez Tonight. Prince and talk shows in general.

No, it's not. You have to copy the link and paste it into your address bar to get it to work properly. It's like that for ALL Org links that are posted in messages here on the org. I can tell you're a relative newbie around here, because most of us know that already.

Anyway, the "Prince curse" IS being discussed in that very topic as well.

Huh? Now it's President Obama's fault that a TV show is being cancelled? Not because of ratings?!

That's the best one I've heard yet!!

What about Leno? He played about ten shows, including the final week, of Leno's shows and Jay still came back to takeover the Tonight Show. I guess Prince got him cancelled(four years earlier by NBC?), but Leno got a witch doctor to reverse the curse...?

He played Letterman too, but I think he's still on the air. shrug

This is stupid!! Please show facts that state letterman was almost cancelled after Prince performed. He was on there several times. Please show facts that the tonite show was almost cancelled as well. He did Oprah in "96 so I guess that is the reason she decided not to continue her show! LMAO!!!

Fuck off. The show has had abysmal ratings for two solid years. The economy has nothing to do with it. Neither does Prince, but leave politics out of it.

You can take your attitude somewhere else. I was merely siding with Prince for once. Seems lately "it's all Princeys fault". It was supposed to light hearted. You can take and Fuck Off along with the government.

I'm not going to be rude about this, there is enough of that around.

Say what you want but it is coming to an entertainer/celebrity/show near you. They are are facing their millions per episode being reduced or eliminated because of the economy. Politics have everything to do with the state of our country is in.

Listen, genius: TV shows have been cancelled for poor ratings for as long as television has existed. Lopez's contract was due, they chose not to renew. We could be in the midst of a boom and the same decision would have been made.

Who is the dope who wrote this ?

"Late Night with David Letterman let Prince appear back in 1992 appearing with “slave” written on his cheek. Less than one year later, Letterman walked out of the show and moved to CBS when Jay Leno was named the successor to Johnny Carson."

I must have missed that one.

Idiot.
