Whose done more "live" shows in their careers: Prince or Michael J.?

And, yes I know Michael is gone but who has performed the most shows?

Just a friendly suggestion: you would probably have a more successful thread if you posted this in the 'Music: Non Prince' forum as a question under the MJ sticky. MJ threads in this forum have an inevitible tendency to get ugly, really, really fast. wink

Anyhow, best of luck to your question.

Prince. Confirmed tour shows for Michael clocks in at 805, although there are two tours for which a number of shows is unavailable, which could not add more than 150 to the total (if they played with no nights off). Prince has done 1097 tour shows eek . That doesn't count the hundreds of after-party shows, one-off shows, private shows, Paisley Park shows, and club shows in Minneapolis.

Good question.

While I'm not surprised it's Prince, let's not forget the MJ was touring a lot in the early seenties with the bruv, so I suddenly had a doubt.

I worship MJ...well you know:-? ... but even I know Prince has done more tours and shows than him. Depending on how the wind blew on him, Prince was mounting a stage like a horny woman and knocking out a show. For every one MJ show, Prince probably played seven. lol

It depends on what you mean.

If you mean, "private shows for 12 year old boys in his bedroom" of course MJ has Prince beat.

None of them beat james brown ..He was a beast

Although I think and hope Prince eclipses him and gets to his 70's and even 80's in good health

James Brown and B.B. King did more concerts in a year than those two but Michael toured a lot during his Motown years. Prince did tour more than Michael in the periods they were successful though so if you want the answer, Prince.

I love MJ but there's no competition here. Prince wins easily.

Prince, without a doubt, although the amount of shows the J5 did prior to Motown were prob. in the hundreds. Some of the Jacksons are on Twitter, and could prob. give an estimate.

Between MJ, Prince, and Bubbles the chimp. I'd have to say Bubbles.

But, as Mikauley Caulkin once said, "No one blew Bubbles quite like Mike".

Well...I wouldn't say that being a perfectionist is lazy....Michael was doing the Prince album a year thing before Thriller...after that he was always working to get each album perfect. So, for a good bulk of his career, he did the exact same thing as Prince. He deserved a break.

Well obviously I do, because I just did.
