How many of you became a witness after Prince did? How many of you became a Jehovah Witness after Prince did? And why did he inspire you?

I found some bootlegs from 1998 where he was talking about his beliefs (usually before performing "The Cross Christ"), and I agreed with some of them and became interested in the religion, but I abandoned it about a year and a half later...

Anybody that does something as life changing as changing their religion because their favourite pop singer has is an idiot! She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

Quite the opposite, I'd say.
Over exposure from Prince about J.W. made me actively take a stand against the faith.
But even that, is hardly much of an influence. I still just say: "No I don't wanna" as politely as to any strangers, when J.W.'s ring on my door.

Hecks Naw! Haha, I became more intrigue with "Truth" (According to the JW's & The Watch Tower Organization ) I studied what they are about, (Even with other JW's!..I find it amazing they want to come to your house and teach but they won't come to yours and listen to your "interpretation"...Haha) It is pretty uneven to me. I find it the more outrageous that you can not criticize or study with anyone of different faith, BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE ONLY TRUE FAITH. What makes it even more outrageous is "The Watchtower Organization" is the only true source of information. The fact that its members are not able to rightly interpret what comes from the scriptures apart from the Watchtower Organization has always a WOW to me...it's like they shut you down before you get a change to stand up. Haha..OK, SO God only communicated through the Watchtower Organization, anything else is invalid? NOOOO, Thanks. I would not even second guess the question to become a JW. Prince, one of my favorite artists of all time, could not even make that much of an impact. No one could, that is some serious stuff to fall into. Respect given to all of them that are within it, but becoming one because someone else is, is a bit redundant...especially if you do not know what is coming from it.
Peace & Love! It's Button Therapy, Baby!

I read that as "morons." We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

i am surprised i spelled it correctly! Well except for the lower case m "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

urh! NEVER! I already knew much about JW cause I've had coworkers who were in it (impossible to talk with them, so brainwashed!) and also friends who got out of JW (fortunately) and explained me what it was like, I've also done my own research, and.. hell, I'll never get a toe in there! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

I would hope no one would become a JW just because their fascination with P, in that case your not serving God, not 2 mention your letting someone else you dont even know, make decisions 4 you. & even worse than that, that said person is Prince
My experinces with JW's have not been pleasant 2 be honest. But Im sure there are cool JW's 2, but I have yet to become close 2 anyone in that sect, inless you count P through his music. "How Can I Stand To..Stay Where I Am? Poor Butterfly Who..Dont Understand." P

I didn't become interested in the religion solely because Prince was, but I found some of the stuff he said about religion to be interesting, so I studied the JW religion for a while, but then I lost interest and gave it up...

JW is one of the more ehhhh religions. I put it down there with Scientology.

Yes his "spiritual" views are very intriguing & seem to be of pure thoughts. However religion isnt always spiritual. Rules condone religion, so I would hope, one would choose a religion they felt was the truth.
But Im glad you gave it a shot & found out for yourself it wasnt for you, & didnt become lost in a religion you didnt agree with or understand because of P. But atleast you did some research & just didnt dog the religion completely. "How Can I Stand To..Stay Where I Am? Poor Butterfly Who..Dont Understand." P

His womanizing with star struck youngsters is hardly a witness for any religion, except the church of harmonysingles.com. Telling his audience to say 'artichoke' while romancing these youngsters makes him a bit of a hypocrite in any other religion; so do we conclude the JW's smile and wink on their star representatives that use sexually tantalizing images and punctuate them with their own vile acts? In one year I count three very young romantic partners-Bria, Misty and Andy . Could be more. In mainstream Chrisitianity, this is called The Woman at the Well. So no, hardly a 'witness' for any religion. The Leaf Shall Inherit The Earth.
