Gotta say I agree; albums, singles, eps, b-sides, remixes - ALL of that should come before bootlegs. |

And are you serious with the $425?! NEVAH! That's like, two or three live shows. More even, depending on the seats. |

Hi,
What you should or shouldn't do is entirely up to you. Everyone have their own unique story about how they got hooked on Prince's music. Enjoy the journey!
P.s.: One opinion I DO share: Never pay for bootlegs! Ever! They should be for free. - Azif WeKare -

Many others, and many of the 12" versions of the a-side and b-side are longer tracks. Not remixes, mind you, but longer versions of the song. |

They are if they collected on an unofficial release.
If 12inch versions and b-sides are of interest to you then you could do a lot worse than track down "T's 12inch Archive." it is 6discs of 12inch versions and long versions of b-sides from the early years up to (if I remember) the Rave album, there are gaps in the tracklisting but it is a great collection and has some fantastic music. |

^That.
Many people come here saying they are TRUE fans and calling others all kind of names just because those others have opinions (based on reality and experience) and then you discover that they don't even have the full official discography, or have just lousy mp3 downloads.
And, in this case, after just 8 months, I'm certain the OP lacks the majority of the albums (at least in hard copy), so why worry about bootlegs (and very especially be willing to pay for them, which demonstrates how clueless the OP is) when the basic work is still undone?
i most of the hard copy albums for christmas last year,(around the time i started really getting into P) the only ones i dont have is chaos and disorder,NEWS,crystal ball, and rainbow children.
should i get those and explore those albums before getting into bootlegs? thanks!
just follow your own ears, ain't no rules my friend. prince was such a phenomenal live performer that i would advise you to get ALL the 80s n early 90s live stuff from soundboard before those mediocre albums u don't have. don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed.... |
