Album. no album, one thing is for sure... The man is still writing and recording tracks, probably on a weekly if not daily basis. His issue is with what happens after his music gets released, not with recording music, he will never stop recording music, unfortunately the vault gets all the love, not us fans. Selfishness aside, I am grateful the work he has released, much more than any other artist I am aware of.
That being said, Prince changes his mind more than a 2 dollar hoe changes her panties, so I fully expect a new album to come out soon. His newest infatuation seems to be this Allo girl, who looks remarkably close to Esperanza Spalding, who Prince is also hot under the collar for. Speculation? I dont know, the man loves his women.
peace

Maybe he should. For Prince quantity hasn't equalled quality for a very long time.

I love the guy for what he has contributed as an artist AND for helping other artist, but I also love a lot of what he values, for example he doesn't really date colored women and that ok people like what they like physicaly but from what I have witnessed he appreciate the "black woman" and praises her highly so if he wants to hit up his natural hair beauty desires from time that's fine, I hope whatever this is, is what this is, do you but then don't come back at the fans if you have some fan thinking that what you're doing is a little crazy, other than that it's whatever life goes on and I had I hope he writes music forever shit he might come back as a humming bird or something I think it's great that he has kept it like that because sometimes holding on to music is all you can hold on to even if you don't sing too well it's keeps you from loosing your mind anyway he just needs to chill with his lil issues IT WOULD MAKE HIM " FEEL" BETTER Facebook.com/AlexandraTorresAGT

2 dollar ho's don't change their panties. They just wear them all day and if they get soiled and/or crusty, they don't care.

being that she's only a $2 ho...i assume she's not very well off. Probably can't afford that many panties. just sayin'...

On a recent TV program Sting was talking about how as he gets older he finds it harder and harder to accept what he produces musically and lyrically. He take much longer over music he creates now and agonises over words and melodies. The way he puts it, he feels more self critical, has he already written it, is it any good, these are the questions he's always asking himself.
There is this expectation of Prince that he is a prolific hit writer. In my view what prince needs to do is take stock. Slow down the tune writing, make sure what is coming out is fresh, different and most of all worthy of his name. His legacy will be all the better for it. As someone said earlier, quantity is not as good as quality when it comes to music, as quality lasts and there is already a lot of music around.

I agree on the quality issue to a point. Quality however is subjective, I think we as Prince fans set the bar so high that it is tough for any "high quality" music he releases to live up to our standards and expectations. It's like watching a sequal to a great movie, you leave it feeling somehow let down saying it was not as good as the first, something was missing, etc. However, if the first movie was never made and this sequal was your first introduction to this movie, it probably would have stood on its own and one would have walked away very satisfied.
Surely the above is not always the case, but it certaintly is something to take into consideration.
Peace
